Re: Modified Waiver Free Period - Rule states this is available after the second extension but I am wondering if it occurs before the contracts roll-over?

Specifically, Val Nichushkin's contract expires this season. If I want to retain his rights do I have to call him up during scheduled games or can he come up after the second extension? Or, now that I think about it, does the inability to extend him in the minors (*Val Nichushkin) mean that I can't take advantage of this rule?

 just notice the game week days, its from Saturday to Friday and not Monday to Sunday ..is this the normal game week days since then??

Sorry but I thought I answered this one but seemed to have missed it. This would only be for players that's contracts extend into next season that have been extended in the minors by some means since it comes after the extension period is over.

So for example I could use this period to call up
Marchessault
Watson
Cousins
Lehtera
to my major roster before free agency to ensure a roster spot for them. Calling up someone like Carrier would result in him hitting free agency anyway as there would be no other way to extend him beyond this season.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Suggestion related to 2-way players:
im suggesting if it is possible to make a sticky thread in the transactions exclusively for calling up and sending down players under 2-way contract. rather than creating new post after new post.

just a suggestion though..
