Wild Card Baseball II Playoff Seeding:
Eastern Conference:
1: Orioles
2: Phillies
3: Red Sox
4: Mets
5: Braves
6: Rays
Western Conference
1: Cubs
2: Padres
3: Dodgers
4: Royals
5: Giants
6: Angels
Playoff Format:
1: Round 1 - The 3rd seed will play the 6th seed and 4th seed will play 5th seed in round 1. This will occur in both Divisions;
2: Round 2 - The winner of the 3rd/6th matchup play the 1st seed. The 4th/5th seed winner will play the 2nd seed in round 2. This will occur in both Divisions;
3: Round 3 - The winners of the Round 2 matchups will play for the Eastern or Western Division Pennant.
4: The victors from each side will come together to compete for the Wild Card Basebal IIl World Series, with the winner being declard the WCB II World Series Champion.
--Once the playoffs begin, no free agent additions will be allowed. There will be no promotions/demotions allowed either. Releases will also be stopped as well.
--Pitching staff limits will still be enforced.

A lot of personal satisfaction gained from the Padres WCB2 World Series victory. I inherited the team by default in the league revival process and gave it a complete makeover via free agency and a few trades here and there. Even though Orange Country “guided” the team through the last few rounds of the playoffs, with a roster of 30 players, the lineup was pretty much set, and the team caught fire and blazed through the playoffs.
The road to the Championship was fraught with some major obstacles and a good deal of “luck”. After a Round 1 bye, the Padres overcame a peaking Los Angeles Dodgers team and squeaked out a Round 2 win. During the regular season, the Western Conference was dominated by the Chicago Cubs, but the Padres caught them in an off week in Round 3 of the playoffs and advanced to the World Series.
The World Series opponent was the Eastern Conference powerhouse Baltimore Orioles—the WCB2 overall #1 seed at 19-3. During the regular season, the Orioles demolished the Padres. But in the World Series, the Orioles got off to a slow start and the Padres capitalized. As with all fantasy teams, a off week is never a welcome occurrence, but even more so in the World Series. The Orioles misfortunes, coupled with a strong week from the Padres hitters and pitchers, were a formula for a Padres World Series Championship!
So, even though I have agreed to take over, and rebuild the Oakland A’s, formerly the Minnesota Twins, the San Diego Padres win will be a feather in my ProFSL cap.
