Angels Trade Deadline Trade Block:

These guys aren't stars, but they are cheap and on expiring contracts.  They are perfect injury fillers for playoff teams.  The price for these guys will also be cheap as I'm mainly looking for specs/pics.  I can also cover contracts depending on the deal.

C Molina, Jose, $2m (2013)
CI Barton, Daric, $4m (2014)
CI Dobbs, Greg, $1m (2013)
CI Inge, Brandon, $3m (2013)
CI Stewart, Ian, $2.5m (2013)
CI-OF Kelly, Don, $1.5m (2014)
MI Carroll, Jamey, $2.5m (2014)
MI Valbuena, Luis, $0.5m (2014)
OF Gillespie, Cole, $0.5m (2013)
P Bastardo, Antonio, $0.5m (P-2013)
RP Axford, John, $2.5m (2014)
RP Bethancourt, Rafael, $2m (2013)
RP Cordero, Francisco, $0.5m (2013)
RP Gregg, Kevin, $0.5m (2013)
RP Rauch, Jon, $0.5m (2013)
RP Thornton, Matt, $2.5m (2013)

Would like a package of young MLB players/specs.
SP Price, David, $14m (2017)

Boston sends:CI Davis, Chris, $10m (2017)
RP Belisario, Ronald, $0.5m (2013)
P Foltynewicz, Mike, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Reed, Chris, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Angels send:CI Gonzalez, Adrian, $19m (2015)
X-CI Gonzalez, Adrian, Cash Exchanged 2014-2015, $2m in 2013     $-8m $-8m 2014/2015
Angels Pay 11mil in 2013 and 1.5 in 2014
CI Seager, Corey, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Doubront, Felix, $0.5m (P-2015)
SP Slowey, Kevin, $1.5m (2013)

Boston makes deal to gain depth and get seager who we feel is going to be very good core player for us and sp to pair with latos and agone solid contributer to replace davis on fair money with 8 paid next couple years

The Angels accept this deal.  The Angels really had no one for hitters until they acquired Agonz by trading Grienke and in that deal they also got Crick and Mac Williamson and now by dealing Agonz they get one of the best power hitters in MLB on a very affordable contract while picking up Folty another hot pitching spec who with Crick will give the Angels two stud young SPs very soon or at least when the Angels plan to be competitive in 2015+.  This was a hard deal to do b/c we don't like losing Seager, but we feel it is necessary to our ultimate goal.  This is one of those spend money to make money scenarios.  Thanks for the easy negotiations.

Both of these players were acquired via trade. Only players drafted by a team are allowed to be placed on your EDR. When trading for prospects from another team they can only be placed on your 40 man roster. You were not given the option to place them on your EDR because you did not originally draft these players in the FGM entry draft.

Shooter

Okay, so Crick and Williamson were on their previous teams EDR, do they go to my 40 man roster or to my EDR?

You have to go find Crick on the Royals ProFsl roster since it was never updated for him to be on the Dodgers.

Players can not be sent down to the EDR roster. The only way for a player to get on the EDR roster is to be drafted by a team and placed there. Once they are on your 40 man roster they can not be moved to the EDR.

Would you still like to drop the following players?

C Gibbs, Micah, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Michael, Levi, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Yes.  That would've been nice to know when I drafted those players, instead they were just placed on my 40man roster without the option given.

Congrats Shooter!

:iatp: Though if I recall correctly teams cannot pay more money on a contract in future years than in the current one. So Angels should pay 8m on Greinke every year and the Dodgers should attach an extra 6m on Gonzalez for 2013 for the trade to go through.

Then how was that done on Agonz contract?  This only came to light after the original deal was being processed so the deal was fixed for the money to match.

2679
Angels confirm.  Same deal, just had to fix the money.

The Angels and Dodgers agree to the following trade.  The Angles are in a complete rebuild mode as I took over a franchise that was in horrible shape.  We gain two specs from the SF organization in Crick who is shaping up to be a big time power pitcher and this monster of an OF in Mac Williamson who looks to have tons of power.  We also add a current MLB bat in Agonz as we don't really have any MLB hitters.  The Dodgers gain another SP in Grienke and two RPs that get a ton of FPG from the RP position, a position where the Dodgers are weak.  Stauffer is also possibly moving back to the rotation.  This trade is good for both of us as it fits in our teams respective plans.  Money is even in this deal.  Dodgers to confirm.

OF Williamson, Mac, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Crick, Kyle, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI Gonzalez, Adrian, $19m (2015)

for

RP Axford, John, $2.5m (2014)
SP Greinke, Zack, $11m (2017)
SP Stauffer, Tim, $5.5m (2015)

  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.

  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

  • Jwalkerjr88: @idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.

  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did

  • Jwalkerjr88: Its the combination of all three that is required is what im saying
    Yesterday at 03:13:31 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide

  • BayAreaBallers: very good pt yes i did gain lot of capital which propelled me to make more moves from that trade
    Yesterday at 03:34:25 PM
  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
