FNHL Expansion Draft: EXPOSURE LIST

Player Exposure Requirements
* All Clubs must meet the following minimum requirements regarding players exposed for selection in the Expansion Draft:

i) One defenseman who is a) under contract in 2017-18 and b) played in 40 or more NHL games the prior season OR played in 70 or more NHL games in the prior two seasons.

ii) Two forwards who are a) under contract in 2017-18 and b) played in 40 or more NHL games the prior season OR played in 70 or more NHL games in the prior two seasons.

iii) One goaltender who is under contract in 2017-18 or will be a restricted free agent at the expiration of his current contract immediately prior to 2017-18. If the club elects to make a restricted free agent goaltender available in order to meet this requirement, that goaltender must have received his qualifying offer prior to the submission of the club's protected list.

* Players with potential career-ending injuries who have missed more than the previous 60 consecutive games (or who otherwise have been confirmed to have a career-threatening injury) may not be used to satisfy a club's player exposure requirements, unless approval is received from the NHL. Such players also may be deemed exempt from selection by the League.

yeah i was wondering the same thing. Looking at Arizona and Toronto for example Az has 2 goalies 1 is active NHL The other is a yoyo call up. Toronto has 1 NHL active goalie with 2 in the minors. Exposing an active goalie could keave a franchise with out an active TG.

About that...
We are following some expansion rules to the letter, and others are tweaked. The rules being tweaked like the drafting of 3 goalies and now perhaps exposure, I would argue are not in Vegas favor.

Other rules, such as drafting a player off each team are being imported 100% authentic. Also I would argue not in the favor of Vegas.

My thinking..
The real VGK has to draft from every team but in doing so gets to draft 3 Goalies.

If we can't draft 3 Goalies, why force us to draft the same number of players?

I think we go authentic NHL Rules or we tweak them all to be fair. If no 3 Goalies then a 25 team draft leaving 5 teams of my choosing off my list. Tampa perhaps included in the 5.

If we are "looking out" for FNHL ownership by tweaking the rules a bit, then we should "look out" for Vegas as well to be fair.

I disagree on the unfair advantage as there are teams with 3 Goalies and even 4 goalies active on rosters as we speak.

3 to 4 goalies is clearly an outliner. I have 2 teams with a combined 1 NHL G. For every team with 3-4 there is another few with 0, 1. 2 is a pretty nice number for a expansion team, clearly favoring the expansion team. Teams with 3-4 also have that many because they have traded a lot of skaters to get them. These are not full rosters.

I actually agree with Daddy in this case, Just because vegas gets to pick 3 goalies by no means will that be 3 top tier starting goalies,  with the cap crunch and teams protecting low priced goalies first, I would guess they can pick 2 starters at the very most and than a filler , my guess is they end up with a starter and a couple backups or 2 starters and prospect guy that is signed to someones pro team.  If they took 3 starters it would purely end up being to trade one of them out which could benefit a team like yours Jonathan.

I have had 2 starters this year and many nights both were starting on the same night. You can still only start 1 a night.  Having 3 starters at a high price would be counter productive IMO as I think you would be spending big money to have a guy sit on the bench.
