Sens had a strong start with Kinkaid leading the way but he started to fade around December and no one else stepped up to pick up the slack. So we'll be shoring up the roster but we don't have the horses this year in Ottawa.
-
Edmonton should be the most improved. After winning the division by 1 game and finishing 42-40, lets just say we've created a gap with a 52-18 start. I'd say the biggest reason was to actually have a solid plan, add a bunch of young guys and build it up and be patient with the plan. There might not be a GM who has made less moves over the last 2 yrs.

A very solid plan, and ones that's paying big dividends. There also might not be a GM who has poached more young guys from me or made me get into bidder wars over lesser known prospects
-
Vancouver in 10th last place, but level in points with San Jose a place above me. Just below were wanted to be at 12th, but improving per year (5th, 7th).
Rebuild going as planned, with good chance of 4 minors getting good NHL time next year (Poehling, Wahlstrom, Kaut and Caleb Jones). Traded 2 good older players for future players and picks,
2 1st's and 2 2nd's in next draft should help refill prospect pool.
How Vancouver has change since joined is summed in three names Troy Grosenick only roster player and 2015 draft picks Tufte and Krys survive from that team after Picks, FA's and 21 trades.

We came into the league around the same time and I remember how rough that roster was. You’ve done a good job restocking. Vancouver should be a team to be reckoned with sooner rather than later!

As much as I want to build through the draft and some deals, that feels like it would take more patience than I have in me. HAHA

That roster you inherited was trash. I had at least Toews and Keith.... but most importantly I had #1, #2, #4, #2 picks in consecutive drafts, and I earned 2 of those and inherited the #1.
-
I actually prefer to build through the draft. Yes it takes time, but know what you are drafting and EL contracts will appear on your roster barring injury.
-
The draft is great for teams looking to restock their roster but it takes time and good research to find the right players.

You got to wonder how much the standings will change from now until the end of FNHL's regular season.
And remember gents, the FNHL Trade Deadline is around the corner Feb 23, 2019 @ 23h59 ET/New York time! Check the FNHL deadlines page.

I certainly didn't help my chances this week by posting a goose egg across the board. I think Vancouver will be passing my Sharks by the end of tonight's games.
-
I should get extra points for that Barkov goal.

Barkov was a monster that game.
