2017 Free Agency Opens January 15th, 12pm CST

We will cut weeks short if there are few players being bid on.  I'll give everyone up to 24 hours notice before we cut a week short and open a new position.

Free Agency Schedule

Week 1 - Catchers
Week 2 - 1B & 3B
Week 3 - SS & 2B
Week 4 - Outfield
Week 5 - Starting Pitchers
Week 6 - Relief Pitchers

General Free Agency Rules

1) Winning bids must stand for 48 hours to sign player.
2) Maximum of 6 winning bids allowed at a time.
3) No editing of bids.
4) A major league contract automatically trumps a minor league contract regardless of value.
5) No minor leaguer under the age of 23 may be offered a major league contract.

Any player with real life service time may be signed to a minor league contract.
Free agents signed with
0-3 years of service time will operate on a prospect contract.
3-6 years of service time will be limited to 2 year contract. (If placed on the 40 man roster normal ARB rules will take over.
6+ years of service time will be a 1 year contract.

Reminder to teams that we do have a tanking rule in place for 2017.  If you do not meet the point thresholds you will lose a draft pick.

Tanking Rule
Beginning in the 2017 season, any team scoring...

Less than 2,000 points will lose their 1st round pick for that season.
More than 2,000 points but less than 3,000 points will lose their 2nd round pick for that season.

Unowned teams will not be subject to this provision.
