how are the loosing teams ranked in the playoffs. for example a team wins their division but has the 9th best record is seeded 4th, but looses its 1st playoff game. does it end up in 5th, 8th or 9th for the power ranking?

The team would be seeded 4th in the playoffs and would get a bye in the wildcard round. If they lose there first game and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd seeds all won then they would end up as 5th overall in the end of the season standings. Higher playoff seed finishes higher then other playoff teams eliminated in a round.
