Franchise NHL / Re: 2020 Stanley Cup Predictions?
« on: August 17, 2020, 02:04:11 PM »
I have to say the Canucks are a surprise against the defending champion Blues. Hovart's been scoring some incredible goals for Vancouver.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: VEGAS / WINGS TRADE
« on: August 17, 2020, 01:44:22 PM »
Detroit is here to confirm. We like the cheaper contract extension of Krejci who will make just over $5 Million for the next few seasons. Krejci is also a core member of the Stanley Cup Finalist Boston Bruins and plays a key role. Great to get my first trade out of the way. Hope to make more move to reshape the roster. Thanks to ALL4U2NV for making this deal happen!

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / DET extension J.Howard
« on: August 12, 2020, 03:07:09 PM »
Detroit will hand Howard another contract. I think the guy's got unfinished business and wants to keep playing for another couple of years.

Jimmy Howard, $5.3m (2017-2020)  #17 G 18/19   $7.3m (2020-2024)

If Howard signs with another NHL team, will I be able to get the Franchise Player discount on Howard? I'm guessing my franchise drafted him. How can I verify that information (ex. get access the the 2011 Fantrax site to check)?

Franchise NHL / Re: DISCUSSION: DECREASE 2021-22 CAP CEILING?
« on: August 12, 2020, 02:50:23 PM »
How about park this decision by saying for the 2021-22 FNHL cap:

A) Roll back by 5% IF NHL cap ceiling is => $81.5M (equal or greater than)
B) Maintain and mirror NHL cap ceiling if < $81.5M (less than)

Thoughts?
:iatp: I agree with Wild Thing. Fantasy cap leagues need this type of safe guard against artificially large amounts of salary cap room given there is no real-world-like free market to help keep contracts and team cap levels in check through negotiations. This type of conditional rule will keep cap in check.

New York Islanders GM will sign extensions with these players before the off season: (Using the highest rank for each of the years 2018/19 and 2019/20 as per league extension rules)

Keith Yandle, $4.4m (2017-2020)  #26 D 18/19   $5.3m (2019-2022)

Brayden Schenn, $6.9m (2016-2020)  #17 C 19/20   $6.4m (2019-2023)  also LW, RW

Lars Eller, $1.9m (2017-2020)  #59 C 19/20   $3.0m (2019-2022)

Zach Hyman, $2.3m (2017-2020)  #56 C 18/19   $3.2m (2019-2022)

After reviewing the salaries on the Islanders and tabulating total payroll salaries, we found two accounting anomalies to be corrected:
1. Total for Defense listed at $21.3m has an actual value of $20.3m
2. Total for Left Wing listed at $16.3m should show an actual value of $14.9m
These edits would enable the New York Islanders to complete the extensions for the players listed above as indicated.

Islanders will sign extensions with these players in the off season:
Mikko Rantanen, $1.5m (2017-2020)  #17 RW 18/19   $7.7m (2020-2024)

Joonas Donskoi, $0.6m (2018-2020)  #115 RW 19/20   $0.7m (2020-2022)

Robby Fabbri, $0.6m (2018-2020)  #133 RW 19/20   $0.7m (2020-2022)

Mike Reilly, $0.9m (2018-2020) #153 D 19/20   $1.2m (2020-2022)

Please advise if there are any inaccurate calculations for the above listed extension contracts posted. Many Thanks for everyone's PM help understanding how to get these contracts resigned.

Franchise NHL / Re: RESCHEDULING: FNHL 2020 SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT
« on: August 05, 2020, 11:58:16 AM »
:iatp: Rescheduling the FNHL SUPPLEMENTAL. New DATE TBD. Sit tight. COVID-19 messing up deadlines but nothing major. This is a necessary change to give all franchise a fair chance at restocking Minor leaguers that are NHL ready. :toast::judge:

Just wondering if a new date has been decided for this event? Late August is when the tentative new date will be set is the last I heard.

Franchise NHL / Re: NHL Hockey's BACK BABY!
« on: July 30, 2020, 10:53:46 AM »
The Mets and their disproportionate fan cardboard cutout heads scattered through the stands is a sad example of a league that has questionable judgement and operates with a eye on financial gain rather than a genuine fan experience. I swore off baseball after the sign stealing fiasco.

Say I want to extend players on the Islanders for more than $3M in new cap but we currently have just $1.1M in cap space, can we activate the 10% salary cap overage or is that only available on August 1st at 5:01PM ET?
