Franchise NHL / Re: Seattle to name Francis GM!?« on: July 23, 2019, 12:51:21 PM »
Time will tell whether Ron Francis can step up and lead the Seattle franchise out of the gate and straight to the top of the standings the way Vegas did.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: Small Trade: Minnesota & Buffalo« on: July 16, 2019, 10:57:19 AM »Minnesota wins handily as they clear cap space and acquire a potentially useful prospect in Martel who has the right skills to play a top 6 plus specialty teams role in the NHL. 86
Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: Trade: Buffalo & Tampa« on: July 16, 2019, 10:55:47 AM »New management on the Island has seemingly helped the careers of several players, most recently Robin Lehner and Michael Dal Colle in the AHL. I see Dal Colle having a breaking through full season in the NHL this coming year and that makes this a winning trade for Buffalo. Martinez will see an improvement on last season's numbers but the Kings are rebuilding and that limits their players' value. 87
Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: Florida Interstate Exchange: FLA & TB« on: July 16, 2019, 10:53:02 AM »This trade is relatively balanced but long term, the winner should be Tampa Bay as they are adding younger players while Florida though acquiring veteran Ladd will help immediately, the veteran has almost reached the end of his playing career. 88
Franchise NHL / Re: GODZILLA ADDS 3RD FRANCHISE, BUYS LIGHTNING!« on: July 16, 2019, 10:48:50 AM »Congratulations on your purchases, Godzilla. It is always refreshing to see a new owner take an existing franchise and implement their vision of what a championship team should be. So far Godzilla has been highly active and that is terrific to see. - DD 89
Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: North Star State and Montreal Complete Deal« on: July 01, 2019, 07:37:43 PM »Minnesota comes out ahead here in my humble opinion. Anytime a team can clear cap to the tune of over $3 Million that's a big benefit to be gained. Prospects do not always develop and Montreal is gaining potential while giving up two players with NHL experience. Berube's story has yet to be written and could be the 2019-20 version of Jordan Binnington. For what it is worth, bravo Minnesota for making the high risk move to control your team's cap destiny. 90
Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: Habs take flyer on Flyer.« on: July 01, 2019, 07:34:01 PM »This is a win-win as Luongo's large retirement Buy-Out would not have taken place in Philadelphia given the limited cap space the Flyers were working with. Montreal clearly benefits by taking on the Buy-Out and clearing it from their account within 1.5 months while acquiring a young high-end defenseman in Seth Jones plus a 2nd Round Draft pick. Well done to both teams. |
