Our constitution states:
Disabled List
Any player may be placed on the Disabled List (DL) if they are placed on the DL in Major League Baseball. Any player on the 15- day DL must remain on the 40-man roster, but anybody on the 60-day DL may be removed from the 40-man roster without penalty.

When a player is put on the 60 Day Disabled List, and is removed from the 40 man roster, when that player is reinstated on the 40 man roster, do we then put the player that replaces the disabled player on the 40 man roster on Irrevocable Outright Waivers?  As an example, Dan Runzler of the Giants is on the 40 man roster, but is also on the 60 day disabled list.  If I were to replace him on the 40 man roster with Heath Hembree, from the San Jose minor league, and then wanted to add Runzler back to the 40 man roster when he becomes healthy, thus requiring me to send a player down to the minors, if Hembree is the one I wish to send back down, do I have to put him on IOW?

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Giants Trade Block
« on: February 09, 2012, 02:55:10 PM »
Having a very, very deep staff, the Giants are looking to upgrade it's middle infield and outfield.  The following are available for consideration:

Tim Lincecum
Matt Cain
Ryan Vogelsong

Also possible: Brian Wilson, elite closer

I'm looking for a combination of SS, 2B, and or OF with great promise.

Would consider a somewhat imbalance trade if it includes owner taking over Barry Zito and his contract.

I'm out of town until Sunday, so will review what I have and need accordingly.  Certainly will entertain any legit offers.

  • ldsjayhawk: @jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe.  I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade.  Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for.  I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.
