Title: 2017 CENTRAL DIV. BUYERS & SELLERS
Post by: PsychoticPondGoons on February 21, 2017, 03:05:08 PM
Buyers & Sellers in the Central

:NAS: Predators looking to claim the FNHL Presidents Trophy for the 1st time in team history likely aren't far from the roster that want and will look for depth deals if any.

:CHI-NHL: Hawks trying to regain their lead atop Central will be fierce buyers at the deadline having assembled the best roster this yr since the team's FNHL inception.

:STL-NHL: Blues eager to return to the FNHL Finals since 2014 have lined up 3 goalies in their crease and completed numerous deals leading up to the deadline. Any future moves will be to address depth and cap structure heading into 2017-18. A little cap space left to work with.

:COL-NHL: Avs have stacked Lundqvist, Steve Mason and Cory Schneider in their crease to prepare for battle in the post-season. New Avs owner Ant always on the lookout for a deal will continue to be active until the deadline. Definitely Shopping and Buying but have no cap space left.

:DAL-NHL: Stars currently hanging onto the last Wildcard spot with 3 weeks to the end of the regular season might want to address their depth before the deadline buzzer. Buyers!

:WIN: Jets Buying & Selling. FNHL's newest owner Dirty_Sanchez00 will be itching to shakeup the roster to catch Dallas for the final Western Wildcard spot. Can they make the right deals in time or will they sit out this round and wait for the off-season to retool. Jets might be the most active team this deadline! :toast:

:MIN-NHL: Wild are Sellers with only a mathematical chance of reaching the playoffs. They can retool their roster with several moves to setup the team's cap for the offseason. Plenty of opportunity with many willing trade partners around and only 4 days left to trade.

Are the any weak teams in Central these days?! So many good owners. There is a strong possibility the 2016-17 FNHL Champion will come from Central Div. Time will tell.

No weak teams in Central. All are powerhouse franchises or budding powerhouse teams. It's going to be a crazy tough division and nearly impossible to play in next year.  :o

Injury news will likely cause one or two teams to try to make a deal last minute.

:CHI-NHL: Hawks did most of its deals earlier in the week while :NAS: & :STL-NHL: got busy at the deadline preparing for the post-season. :toast:

:WIN: New owner of the Jets stayed on the sidelines as did :DAL-NHL: though reluctantly and :MIN-NHL: stood pat.

(http://profsl.com/smf/Smileys/default/DAL-NHL2.png) strategy of "we'll trade all our bad players for all your good players" didn't work (http://www.profsl.com/smf/Smileys/default/rotfl.gif)

Actually we were willing to make a depth move, but with the final wild card spot being the absolute best we can finish this year, just didn't want to do anything silly to jeopardize the future. We like where we are as compared to last summer, but we're still building. Decided to stand pat in the end.
