:iatp: Definitely a trade for cap reasons. Makes good sense both ways.

:iatp: Good for Toronto who want going to release those players and good for Colorado picking up something for FAs they signed.

:iatp: Looks good. I see Centers switching teams and two owners getting the player they want.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade Wild & Wings
« on: August 17, 2020, 03:08:38 PM »
Traded to Wings :DET-NHL:
G - Charlie Lindgren (Rd5 2018: UNDRAFTED - 18 Games)  GP updated Nov20/19
C - Adam Johnson (SDP 2019: UNDRAFTED - 6 Games)
D - Marshall Warren (2019: 6/166 - 0 Games)
Jordan Weal, $1.9m (2019-2022)

FOR

Sent to Wild :MIN-NHL:
Cory Schneider, $5.8m (2019-2023)
Danny DeKeyser, $1.4m (2019-2021)
Round 4 - 2020  (from :DET-NHL:)

We have some $$$ to spend on the wily vet net minder Schneider. He's on his last leg but we like that he is still a valuable asset that Minny can use down the line if things don't work out the way we plan. Dekeyser is injuried and in his 30s so he's a roll of the dice in this deal and we're likely eating cap. I have no problem moving prospects and a depth player to make this happen. Wundermaan to confirm. Thanks!

:iatp: Even though I'm not in the extended playoffs, I appreciate what you guys do as commissioners to keep everything organized around here.

Great league. Terrific commissioners. Tremendous group of owners here in FNHL.
Did that sound like The Donald. :win::iatp:

Thanks from Buffalo :BUF-NHL:
:iatp: Well said, Beef!

That's why I re-upped with FNHL. Love the competition. Love the level of organization. Since I've been here, the judgement shown by the commish's shows me they want a successful league for the long haul.

Franchise NHL / Re: FNHL Seattle Expansion Rules
« on: August 11, 2020, 08:52:27 PM »
I hate surprises is all. The expansion draft will throw a wrench into each team's plans. So will the next cap figure from the NHL in 2021.

I'd rather take the proactive approach like we did here in FNHL to set our own cap #. As fate would have it, the NHL fell in line with Franchise NHL with a $81.5M cap ceiling.

Amazing if you take moment to think about it. Great work by PPG & PR to stay ahead of the curve. :toast:
Best damn league around.:win::win::win::win::win:
:iatp: :iatp: Best league for sure!

I think this extension exceeds your off season 10% cap overage at this time since you’ve also got an earlier signed Montour extension in the books which puts your Canes roughly at $10million over or approximately 2million on tre other side of the $8.1 million overage.

  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.

  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    Today at 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.

  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
    Today at 05:57:14 PM
  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen

  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
