Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / DISCUSSION: Tentative mid-late JULY Season End, Impacts?

Crow brought up a good point about Free Agency starting before the NHL confirms a new set of salary cap figures for next season.

For PR and myself, given all the COVID-19 impacts on the NHL's revenue, the cap for 2020-21 will likely remain the same and possibly get cut back below the current 81.5m.

So I propose FNHL takes the initiative to decide the 2020-21 cap remain the same as the 2019-20 cap figure, 81.5m cap ceiling.

Thoughts? Jump in FNHL owners.

Franchise NHL / 2020 NHL Draft: Going to happen?

There's talk of the NHL watching the NFL remote draft closely and considering options to hold the draft in June before the season has been completed and the Cup awarded. Crazy?!?!?!??!!!!!!!!!

I think the NFL is a no brainer in their offseason. But the NHL has an incomplete regular season with playoffs yet to be played so I don't see how they can hold a draft! Too much left to be determined by reg season and playoff results to nail down draft positions. What about trades? That would impact playoff bound teams!? WTF!

Impossible IMO.

I like that idea to play out the remainder of the 2019-20 playoffs.

Running with that idea to building on that thought, we could create a parallel league with the 8 remaining playoff teams at the start of 2020-21 and play out
* Round 2 Thurs-Sun -- 4 days
* Conference Finals -- 1 week
* FNHL FINALS -- 2 weeks

We would have to ensure:
* the remaining 8 teams have a say and
* 8 teams would need to agree to any setup that is not the expected regular course of the FNHL playoffs we normally undertake
* 8 teams would need to agree unanimously that the prize pool is in-play or agree the remainder of FNHL playoffs are for fun only with no official result recorded.

Parallel league to play out the remainder of the playoffs would be free to setup on Fantrax because it's less than 12 or 16 teams -- but to be double checked by myself & PR.

I believe commissioner controls would allow me and PR to set matchups for each remaining Playoff Round.

It's official, the NHL has hit the PAUSE BUTTON on the 2019-20 season meaning our FNHL Playoffs are also PAUSED in the middle of Round 2.

PR & I will post a discussion thread for all FNHL owners to have a say with some recommendations in case of scenario X, Y or Z.

Congratulations Jonathan / EDMONTON OILERS :EDM:!

The Oilers claim their first ever Franchise NHL Presidents Trophy going 77-4 during the 2019-20 Franchise NHL regular season.  :judge: :win:  It was a two team race with :EDM: Edmonton overtaking :NAS: Nashville mid-season and never looking back.

Oilers built their contender through the draft with the likes of Jack Eichel, Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart, and Rasmus Dahlin anchoring the team for years to come.

The Top 5 teams during the regular season were:
