Giving the win to the Wings here for cutting salary while adding more production. Fisher isn't far off the pace from Ladd and has a cheaper cap hit while Petrovic (has big upside from what I know of the kid) and Larsson are younger, less expensive and more productive. Weiss will go from a 4.3m contract to a league minimum 0.2m for being the 218th ranked Centre. The 1st round pick helps in this deal but clearly a win to Detroit.
Tough to get a good read on this deal but I think I know where the teams are headed with this trade.
Looks like Panthers picked up some cheap Dmen while shipping off a bad contract in Laich but thing is Brooks has a crazy cheap extension coming his way to the tune of 0.4m for a Centre ranked as high as #166 over the past 2yrs. Put another way that 5.3m Laich cap space hog will decrease by 4.9m once contracts roll over. Orlov has potential and the pick lets Calgary draft their own prospect for the farm.
I'll call this trade a draw and maybe even a win for the Flames.
I'm going to give the win to Avs here for getting a player they can insert into the lineup immediately. Prospects are always a gamble especially on defence but those kids are pretty good bluechip prospects.

PS Not a whole lot of cap space to resign other extensions Pigs. Think about EC or TC approval to move some pending free agents so the team doesn't lose assets outright man.

Not sold on Mikko Koskinen making return to the NHL. KHL pays handsomely for goalies that own 9.39 GAA's. Of course if he returns to North America and catches on with a team, 6'7 Koskinen could be worth the wait.
Sorry Pigs. Your Panthers will have to fend off Izaman's boys Pavelski, Pacioretty, Ladd, Okposo, Kopitar, Datsyuk. That's an All-Star line-up right there guys!
