If a player is extended, and the extension is less than his current contract, there are two stipulations:

1)  Extension must be at least 70% of his previous contract;
2)  Extension can only be for two years.

Unfortunately, Cessa would have to be extended for $1.5m because $1.0m does not fulfill the 70% requirement.  The good news is that at $1.5m, you can extend him for 3 years.  Is that what you want to do?
