I'm good if we add blocked shots.

I actually slightly liked that stat more than hits. At least a blocked shot is a blocked shot. A hit is dependent on the official scorer and his interpretations. Some of these guys call it a hit when a player brushes up against a player. Others require a player to drive another through the boards before they will credit a player with a hit. Big reason why you'll see players fluctuate between 8 hits one night and 0 another night, even though they play the same game.

OK, off my

haha, I also think about that often. I like to occasionally have some grinders on my squad. I had Matt Martin for years and when officials would record hits properly, it would be great, but sometimes you get nothing.

Home town official scorers can be funny. For example, Ovechkin will get credited for 10 hits in a game against Pittsburgh if the game is in Washington. If the same game is played in Pittsburgh, he will get credited with 1. The truth is somewhere in the middle. That's just an example. Not picking on the Caps or Pens ... all teams do that.

I also think it is funny when home town official scorers try to sneak in a second assist for their guy on a goal. Or not credit an assist to an opposing player. Another example, whenever the Penguins score a goal in Detroit, the official scorer will call it unassisted if at all possible. I think it is so the announcer doesn't have to say the words "... assisted by Sidney Crosby" and depress the crowd.

But assists usually get changed correctly by the NHL after the game. Hits do not.

If we add it, Blocked Shots should be a nominal stat.
0.15 per Blocked Shot makes good sense.

I'm all for Blocked Shots as a scoring cat. There's decent value for teams with players willing to take one for the team.

0.15 per starting in 2020-21 makes sense.

I actually like the blocked shots category. As Crow said, it's certainly more meaningdul than a hit.

So is this a go for 2020-21?
Or do we take an official vote.
Just wondering.

I require from my teams, proper levels of anger, belligerence and some good ol' fashion piss 'n' vinegar.
