Just noticed that Oakland had cut OF Melvin Upton, Jr receiving penalty on official roster and since taking over the team my first move was to win Melvin Upton, Jr in 2017. What is the ruling on this move and is it possible to resume the original contract of $.5M (2019)?
Yes, it is tough to give up such a player as Josh Donaldson, but I feel that to compete in this league (BIG SHOES TO FILL as new team owner) I do pick up 2 quality players for 1.
