Robert Luongo, $5.3m (2010-2018)
Luke Glendening, $1.5m (2017-2020)
Drake Caggiula, $0.2m (2016-2018)
SDP Round 2 - 2018 LAK

We add the backup goalie we've been seeking. Loungo might retire or player another 2yrs. Doesn't matter, he will help us out. Godzilla to confirm. :toast:

Kings trade in an old broken down goalie model for an brand new goalie model coming off the assembly line. Van Pottelberghe is going to be good one some day. Seen him play at the 2017 WJC and he was great for someone without bluechip prospects playing in front of him. Luongo wasn't going to get an extension from us so this is a great package for us. Got some offers for Bobby but this one gives me a young stud scorer, high pick and a good prospect goalie. Goodluck to the Flyers!

Being the former owner of the Los Angeles Kings it can be difficult for me to objectively gage a trade by this team. That said, I believe this trade could have removed some highly productive assets from the Los Angeles roster for their play-off drive but in the long run they will come out ahead. By the start of the 2018-19 season, Philadelphia may only have Glendening, Caggiula and a supplemental draft pick remaining on their roster from this trade with Roberto Luongo having retired. Time will tell as usual.
