Sharks confirm the trade above. We did this deal to shed a couple of extra bodies and reduce payroll in anticipation of a few contract extensions we need to sign before the end of the season.
Niederreiter, Regin and Rundblad were critical pieces in making this trade work. I exchanged veterans for youth while on defense I already have Larsson and Cole both up and coming stars. It was difficult to deal away Pietrangelo but he's not Hitchcock's type of player so unless he gets traded by the Blues he won't produce much in fantasy.
