Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / SJ Buy out
« on: July 11, 2013, 06:06:28 PM »
Seems like Kovie falls into the bad contract category. He's retiring from the NHL to go to the KHL. You got to feel bad for Lou and the Devils losing their best player that also happen to cost them their 2014 First round draft pick after that botched initial contract attempt.

Looks like my :SJ: will use a retirement buyout on Kovie's 6.7m contract which works out to 8m (2012-13).

Sharks are going to use an Amnesty buyout for senior power forward and legendary NHL hitman, Todd Bertuzzi, $1.9m (2014-2015) x .40 over remaining 3 yrs = 0.7m (2014-15) -1.2m to cap space

We also buyout these players
John-Michael Liles, $3.5m (2014-2015) x .6666 over 1 yr = 6.9m (2012-13)+3.4m

Kyle Brodziak, $3.1m (2013-2014) x .6666 over 1 yr = 4.1m (2012-13)+1.0m

Tim Connolly, $2.0m (2014-2015) x .6666 over 1 yr = 3.9m (2012-13)+1.9m

Darren Helm, $1.8m (2014-2015) x .6666 over 1 yr = 3.5m (2012-13)+1.7m

We should have enough cap to get these buyouts passed.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade between Sharks/Sabres
« on: March 09, 2013, 08:17:43 PM »
Sharks continue to wheel and deal.

Going to the Sabres
Scott Gomez 0.2m
Michael Rupp 0.6m

Coming to the Sharks
BUF 3rd Round draft pick

At this point my Sharks can do much more with a 3rd round draft pick than a couple of depth Centers that are more suited to a playoff contender's roster than mine.

Sabres to confirm. :toth:

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Bud Holloway

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade between Sharks/Devils
« on: March 07, 2013, 09:19:09 PM »
Sharks busy again wheeling and dealing.

Going to the Devils
Rich Peverley 2.2

Coming to the Sharks
Darren Helm 1.8
NJ 3rd Rd Pick

I feel Helm will be the better fantasy guy when he's healthy and it's nice to land an extra pick.

Devils to confirm.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade between Sharks/Panthers
« on: March 05, 2013, 04:02:57 PM »
Sharks trade our depth for some great building blocks for next season.

Going to the Panthers
Doug Murray 1.6
Jakub Kindl 1.5

Coming to the Sharks
Mike Green 3.9
Kyle Brodzniak 3.1

Green is the player we are after and taking on some cap and moving depth on the blueline is very inexpensive.

This trade makes us stronger next season.
Panthers to confirm.

If we can't right the ship we might be selling off players to contending teams. Should have a better idea in another week or two.

  • Daddy: If i have 10 top level AA prospects each in the top 10 of the franchise vs one middle of the road pitcher like Cal Quantrill (or pick a guy) which one of those two packages are more valuable?

  • Daddy: If you think its the AA guys send me a pm.

  • Daddy: Also... Ive got a nice private island full of beautiful women to sell you. Pay me upfront and i will send you its coordinates. We call it the Virgin Daddy Islands. $5k reserves it for your future.

  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.
    May 05, 2024, 02:42:54 PM
  • Daddy: Agreed. But most does not equal all.

  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    May 05, 2024, 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Braves155: But I myself could use some time on a nudie island with some hot women
    May 05, 2024, 02:49:45 PM
  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.
    May 05, 2024, 04:33:51 PM
  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
    May 05, 2024, 04:35:28 PM
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.
    May 05, 2024, 05:15:18 PM
  • Daddy: There shouldn't be many innings available in FA in dynasty fantasy leagues IMO. Thats guaranteed money! To hell with High A ball.
    May 05, 2024, 05:21:23 PM
  • Daddy: Until someone starts a minor league baseball fantasy game or option. Maybe we can petition fantrax? I just dont think they will care for that.
    May 05, 2024, 05:23:07 PM
  • Daddy: Neither should we (so much). Every league i see is MLB.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
    May 05, 2024, 05:57:14 PM
  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
    May 05, 2024, 06:02:39 PM
  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
    May 05, 2024, 06:20:28 PM
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
    May 05, 2024, 06:22:29 PM
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
    May 05, 2024, 06:24:36 PM
  • Brent: I over value minors to a fault, but I am softening on that stance.
