NHL Board of Governors has discussed a possible 2014-15 NHL salary cap that will be in the range of $68M to $71.1M.
Our FNHL cap is currently set at $64.3M in 2013-14 so teams will have anywhere betweem approximately 4M - 7M in extra cap to use once contracts roll over August 6, 2014 17h01 ET.
This thread will be updated with the official 2014-15 cap values when they are confirmed.

Here's a March 12, 2014 BleacherReport article about 2014-15 NHL Salary Cap Projections and impact on various NHL teams...

:BOS-NHL: Bruins could use some additional cap space!

A few days ago THN mentioned a 69.4 cap ceiling that reflects the weaker Cdn $.

That's what keeps this league interesting, the ever changing annual cap #.
-
Given the trend with the Cdn dollar the 2014-15 salary cap will be closer to 68.4m than 71.1m.
I almost prefer the lower cap number to ensure teams better manage their cap. If the cap jumps suddenly, we'd see lots of free spending and money tossed around during FA... of course that's not to say a franchise with lots of available cap won't throw money around come August 10th this yr but they'll think twice about over paying a player knowing the cap isn't going to increase that fast yr-over-yr.

Anyone know when the 14-15 cap #s are going to be announced by the NHL?
-
Ive been trying to confirm that but i will post the new cap as soon as i find out officially.

The staff at capgeek were kind enough to reply me on that subject and it won't be confirmed before the end of June but should not go under $68m . :toth:

Anyone seen any sign of the 2014-15 cap value? ???
I've been digging around and I think I've read Bettman's going to announce it after the NHL Stanley Cup Finals are wrapped up. Anyone hear different?
-
Anyone hear anything since the NHL Finals wrapped up? I can't find a thing on the next cap figure!?!
-
Apparently Bettman wants the cap firmed up by the draft which starts tomorrow/Friday evening.
The 2014-15 cap ceiling is still projected to be high 60s or low 70s according to this articile yesterday on TSN.ca
