Title: New Orleans Pelicans and DET Trade
Post by: STLBlues91 on July 01, 2023, 02:21:45 AM
Cade Cunningham 2023/2024-5.8mil, 2024/2025- 5.8mil
Killian Hayes 2023/2024-3.8mil (Will pick up team option)
Alperen Sengun 2023/2024-4.2mil, 2024/2025-4.2mil (Will pick up team option)
Miles Bridges 2023/2024-0.5mil, 2024/2025-0.5mil, 2025/2026-0.5mil
2nd overal pick 2023
2024 2nd round pick (NOP)

For
1st pick 2023
Kyle Anderson 2023/2024-7.5mil with 4.5mil paid via previous deal
Gabe Vincent 2023/2024-0.5mil, 2024/2025-0.5mil
2024 2nd round pick (DET)

DET does this as they hate losing pick one with a talent like Victor. We would not have moved back if it wasnt for the 2 spot. Based on his build I am afraid for injuries in the future. I also have chet coming in. I pick up a lot of good young guys and like who I can take at number 2. DET may end up hating this in the future but they didnt want to put all their hopes in one basket. They get their PG/C/SF and a backup pg or a trade asset. Then they have pick number 2 for their rebuild. The talks were back and forth but enjoyable, gl NOP

Pelicans confirm.  I decided to consolidate some assets and go after Wembanyama.  I was set on Scoot at 1.2, but I already have Antman and Booker so Scoot would have been redundant as would Miller had I went that route.  I don't like moving Sengun, but Wembanyama will take his place at C and I'm okay with Jarrett Allen and Wiseman as his backup.  This should help both teams.

Thanks for the negotiations.
