Title: Detroit and Vancouver trade
Post by: izaman3 on December 24, 2018, 02:15:17 PM
To Detroit
Evgenii Dadonov, $6.9m (2017-2021)

To Vancouver
Jeff Carter, $8.0m (2017-2022)
C - Luke Kunin (2016: 1/15 - 0 Games)
Round 2 - 2019

Dadonov been great since returning from the KHL and unfortunately Carter has fallen off production wise and is on a huge contact for what he is putting up. It's tough giving up Kunin but I really like Dadonov

Vancouver confirm the trade.

Losing Dadonov will hurt in the short term, but gaining Kunin, a good young prospect called up by Minnesota and has 15pts in 21 games in AHL, plus a 2nd Round pick. As the Canucks a few years from gaining place in playoffs, as building Canucks via the draft.

Carter was added mainly, as a cap dump to free up space for Detriot, and Canucks have the space.

Detroit has fired their cannons. RedWings are adding scoring while subtracting salary and some assets. Good trade for both teams.

:iatp: I like this trade for Detroit now and Vancouver after they use that 2nd rounder.

:iatp: I like how Detroit is making this deal to add cap space and paying appropriately to do so. Vancouver is making a good move for now and their future.
