Edge to the Pens trailing Sunday morning but with a goalie start and Crosby/Malkin in hand I would be bet on black

Who would've thought with Crosby and Malkin going last night that it would be Pheonix Copley and Carl Grundstrom to carry my Pens into the 2nd round ... pending no last minute NHL scoring changes. Go figure.

Worst lineup move of the year cost my Habs a berth in Round 2. Didnt think the Pens would start Murray in b2b games but they did because theyre fighting for a playoff berth themselves.

Poetic how the NHL Pens mightve screwed my Habs in their matchup against the FNHL Pens. Craziness!

I feel for you, Mordecai. DeSmith was the assumed starter all day, until Sullivan announced Murray would go again about 30 minutes before the game (with no morning skate for the Pens). This was Murray's 8th straight start (a new career high) and his 2nd back-to-back in two weekends (also a career first). I would have made the same decision if I had been in your shoes, figuring DeSmith would've been the starter.

It was a great match up. Too bad one of us had to lose. I feel very fortunate, no question.

Not sure if this is the place but I would like to see a more flexible independent player game start to lock a roster versus the first game of the day. Current format really allows for Lady Luck to play more of a role than I would like to see. #Habsrule

:soapbox: I’ve been upset with this during the regular season business mans special days and weekends

I will say I was rooting for the underdog here but tough loss not getting the right starters in

A tough loss for :MON-NHL: Montreal.
However it is a great victory, well deserved for :PIT-NHL:. Penguins' long-term vision through the draft with Carl Grundstrom in 2016 and their brilliant Supplemental Draft selection of KHL goaltender Mikko Koskinen plus the acquisition of little known young netminder Pheonix Copley contributed to MCrow's success. :toast: Well done :PIT-NHL: Pittsburgh.

Thanks, DD! Although in this case, I think it was better to be lucky than good.

If this is possible on the site, I would second this. Even though I benefitted from it this time around, I too have had to try and read Gallant's mind this season on Saturdays and Sundays as to when MAF will or will not be starting. Usually he does, but with back-to-backs ... or doing something silly like having another kid ... you never know.

Congrats to :PIT-NHL: Pens!
Although I made a boneheaded move switching Murray for DeSmith, the nail in my coffin was a rookie that came from out of nowhere to steal that victory from my Habs last night, LA Kings recently acquired prospect from the Jake Muzzin deal, Carl Grundstrom. He played 2 games last week and laat night scored his 2nd goal in his 2nd game during the final game of the day. Drama. If he was still with the Leafs/Marlies, he wouldn't get a sniff of NHL ice until 2020. That said, Pens are peaking at the right time. :toast::winner:

I definitely love my team and how it rolls nightly. Will be looking to keep my :MON-NHL: Habs together with just some fine tuning to get us deep in the postseason.

  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
