Congrats go out to the Boston organization. That was a fun battle and although we lost maybe we learned something along the way. The league will have some serious contenders next year - enjoy the summer with the cup!

Ripper

Appreciate it Rip!

I was worried about the Preds playing and possibly starting Rinne again on Sunday. Not to mention a bunch of regular Bruin vets sitting out Sunday like Chara, Bergeron, Lucic.  :soapbox: Needless to say my pants were pooped.

Let's say same time same place next April.  :toast:

Congrats Boston!

Like I said in the Finals thread getting by Philly was probably the key to my team's success. And there was a ton of luck on our side for that Conf Final matchup against Papps!  :toth: Flyers are another scary team in this league.  :judge:

We played a lot of great teams on the road to winning the Cup!  :toast:

Great seasons turned in by both :BOS-NHL: and :STL-NHL: who took the league by storm!

When the dust settled after the 2 week 2013-14 FNHL STANLEY CUP FINALS, Jackdaniels :BOS-NHL: 213.45 defeated ripper's :STL-NHL: 203.25 in a great seesaw battle between two high-scoring and balanced rosters.

Congratulations BOSTON!
Your status as league champ will be noted on the league's new header along with past champs and you take home the 1st FNHL purse of $75USD. :judge:

:iatp:

GDI! What a Stanley Cup Final Series gents!  :toth:
My take on the Fianls, Ripper's Blues got robbed in broad daylight! Plan n simple! LOL

I mean where the hell did Boston come from over the weekend to overtake St.Louis. They were down and out most of the two wks of the Finals. Not to mention the 14 or 15 wk winning streak Ripper was on. Insane stuff!

Both teams were hyper active building up their rosters and man did it pay off. Didn't hurt either to have all world goalies. But yeah JD lucked out with Nilsson getting a start and pulling off a big win in Overtime on the last day to throw 9 points on the board for Boston. That's dumb luck if I ever saw it. Not trying to take away from the Cup win by JD but man you are one lucky SOB man!  :afro: :disco:

Well played by both teams and a great season by the owners!  :judge:  Can't wait to face both teams in the new season!

Congratulations Boston BRUINS!  :toast: :win: :winner:

that's a fair assessment of what went down.
when boston took out my Panthers i knew he had a good chance of winning.
the thing i love about the 2wk FNHL Finals is there's not much left to chance even with the regular nights off veterans get this time of yr just before the postseason starts in the NHL.

what hurt st.louis towards the end was the injury to Bishop. anytime a goalie goes down it hurts a team badly. of course ripper had rinne to throw in there as well.

as for boston i believe they lost bergeron over the final weekend.

Winning the Cup after a long 2wk dogfight with Rip's Blues makes it a sweeter victory!

Pigs your Panthers had our number during the regular season but once the playoffs rolled around I knew it was a whole new ballgame. All those nights off my vets took did worry me just a little during thebfinal wk but I felt I had enough firepower to compete and keep it close. Like I said lots of luck also came into play to get us the Win!  :toast: :win:

was afraid that scenario would play out with the dominance during reg season play then a lackluster postseason.
i'll hand it to you Jack, you made some great moves including signing nick holder and kevan miller then trading for anders nilsson who got you thru the second wk.

goes to show even backup goalies are incredibly valuable in this league.

i think phoenix's 2012-13 Cup victory came on the back of tomas vokoun and another backup goalie that picked up extra starts towards the end of the reg NHL season AKA our FNHL playoff period.

:iatp: Vokoun was a beast last yr for the Pens. Tough break for Burke's Sharks when Vokoun went down for the yr before Burke could get any ROI from his deal with the Yotes.

  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.
