Backyard NHL: Archives / Backyard 2019-20 Season
« on: August 05, 2019, 11:01:22 AM »
Hey everyone,

First off, I want to apologize for being a bit of a ghost this summer. But rest assured that I will make sure that things are running smoothly again for the season.

It's only a couple months until the NHL season starts and we still have to have our draft and open Free Agency. In order to get a move on things, I need to know who will be returning for this next year. Please vote for your team, the team you currently own, if you will be returning.

We may need to fill some GM spots as we are getting everything else set up. I will be processing all the extensions and other transactions on the board. Please hold off on any new trades for the next little bit as I get things ready to go for the start of the new season. I should have trading open again in a week or two.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Vancouver and Detroit Trade
« on: August 05, 2019, 10:32:52 AM »
Vancouver Receives:
Jacob Trouba, $4.0m (2016-2019)  5.7m (2019-2023)
LW - Blake McLaughlin (2018: 3/79 - 0 Games)

Detroit Receives:
Round 1 - 2019  (from :CAR-NHL:*)
D - Caleb Jones (2015: 4/117 - 0 Games)
RW - Alexander Volkov (2017: 2/48 - 0 Games)
SDP Round 2 - 2020

Vancouver came calling about Trouba and it took a little while for me to see something that would work. Trouba as the #1 D on the Rangers is going to be a stud, but everyone knows how I like prospects and draft picks (its the gambler in me). This deal allows me have a little bit more cap flexibility going into the season, plus I've got young D-men coming up, like Quinn Hughes, who can take Trouba's place on the blueline.

Vancouver to confirm. Thanks for the deal Daz!  :toast:

  • jmntl82: How did the other team finish?
    May 28, 2024, 10:16:01 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: It was dallas. I think he missed the playoffs that year. Then used the draft picks on the 2021 class. Every pick was the 32nd pick (dont remembee what the other 1st became)
    May 28, 2024, 10:18:22 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
    May 28, 2024, 10:19:34 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: The results of that draft class is here [link]
    May 28, 2024, 10:20:27 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Every 32 overall pick dallas makes in each round came from that trade
    May 28, 2024, 10:20:54 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: The 2024 and 2025 classes look much more promising than that one lol
    May 28, 2024, 10:22:06 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: 2021 draft class was my worst class as a NFL Live gm. my 2022 and 2023 were better
    May 28, 2024, 10:32:52 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: I think it was the worst for most of us. It was a bad class overall. The top was amazing tho

  • Daddy: ProFSL has to be established by having great product or at least different product. We had the same old members. "Get off my lawn" types wanting to run leagues that were identical to the others. If you want 100 of the same old guys never chatting and no guests on the site. We had how many years of that?
