Cubs trade:
OF Martin, Leonys, $0.5m (2019)

Giants trade:
SP Paxton, James, $2.5m (2020)
X-SP Paxton, James, Cash Exchange, $2.0m In 2018

Cubs agree to the trade. Martin is looking really good healthy again and leading off for the Tigers, but I have tons of OF. Paxton can't seem to put together a full season for the life of him, but can be very good when he's healthy so I'm willing to take the risk on him. Maybe him and Otani can make a full starter's worth of IP. And I'm not at all happy with my depth at SP so I think this is a win-win. Thanks for the smooth negotiations Flash.

SP-19 = $9M for the max of 4 years
New contract = $10.5M (2018), $9M (2022)

MI Cozart, Zack, $3m (2018)
#18 in 2018, #8 in 2017, #47 in 2016
MI-8 = $7.5M for the minimum of 2 years
New contract =  $3m (2018), $7.5m (2020)

CI Morrison, Logan, $4m (2018)
Off the charts low in 2018 so far, #24 in 2017, #69 in 2016
CI-24 = $6.5m for the minimum of 2 years
New contract = $4m (2018), $6.5m (2020)

  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
