Cross-Court Dynasty: Archives / Possible new rule- 1 year extensions
« on: July 15, 2022, 05:57:26 PM »
We already have a rule in place where if you sign someone in FA to a 1 year deal, they are ineligible for an extension and will back to FA the following year. This post is to gauge reception to also making this rule included extensions. Meaning if you extend someone for 1 year, they automatically go to FA the following season. This would only impact future extensions, not ones already made.

This is mainly to make it more realistic as players usually only accept 1 year deals as a provide it deal to hit the open market the next year for a bigger payday. And it would possibly make FA more exciting each year if better players hit FA.

Please post your thoughts.

Cross-Court Dynasty: Archives / Future Cap- PLEASE VOTE
« on: May 31, 2022, 05:52:22 PM »
Should we continue to allow teams to go over the cap in future years? Current rule is we allow teams to go over cap in future years and then as soon as the off-season starts where you are over cap, every move made must clear more cap than it brings in.

1. Yes, keep it allowed. And to clear up any future confusion, the rule is that once the off-season where you are over the cap starts, you must make sure you are back under the cap by the start of the regular season.

2. No, do not allowed anyone to ever be over future cap. Any trades/signings that would put you over cap will be invalid.

If it's voted to remove the ability to go over future cap, this would go into affect at the start of next off-season to not impact anyone already over future caps

Cross-Court Dynasty: Archives / Open Teams Going Into Off-Season

Ok we are starting this vote over with new options as it seems we have hit a stalemate with the original vote. I want to get this vote figured out before teams start going crazy in offseason moves. No discussions on other options, these are the final options on where we go with cash exchanges.

So post your vote below.

Option 1- Leave as is

Option 2- Eliminate cash exchanged on contracts entirely

Option 3- A team can have no more than a net $25m in cash paid from another team on their roster. Meaning if you have are paying say $10m in cash on player's trade away from your roster, you can not have more than $35m coming in from other teams.

Option 4- Same as option 3 except $10m net instead of $25m

Option 5- Change to a max % allowed of 25% of a player's contract. Meaning if the player is on a 2 years contract on deal at $30m per season, the max total that can be paid on player is $15m (25% of the player's $60m contract value).

If after we get near end of vote and 2 options are close in votes, we will remove the lower 3 options and just re-vote at the 2 higher selected optins.

On options 2 and 5, previous trades would not be impacted. If someone already has money exchanged, it would be grandfathered

The idea is you build your team with a salary of XXX and then every 2-3 seasons you have decisions to make. Field a 26 man roster, control your own pitching rotation, pen, lineup & bench like the true MLB. Draft every season where there's a lot of turnover. Interesting for sure.
