The turning pt for the Columbus BJs is Steve Mason getting regular starts in Philly.
Our recent deal with Calgary to swap goalies and land Reto Berra will also help our team for the stretch drive.

Ryan Johansen's breakout season has also helped the club get more W's on the board.

If I had my way these contracts won't be on our BJ payroll in 2014-15
Joe Thornton, $7.5m (2011-2015)
RJ Umberger, $5.6m (2015-2016)

Anyone want to make an offer for Big Joe or RJ?

Makes sense to shop the team after the trade and FA deadlines since the make up of the team won't change from that pt on. Good solid team in Minny. Maybe I'll pick them up and dump the Hawks after I bring Chicago a championship.

But Diaz might get some decent ice time with the Canucks which is a big difference when compared to his last few weeks in Montreal in the pressbox.

Kindl is my kind of player. He hits. Blocks shots and hits some more. What's not to like. Fedun should get his shot in Edmonton once he gets that last bit of rust worked out of his game. He missed the entire 2011-12 season with a broken leg but man the guy can play.

is going to make a few more trades.

Been wanting to unload Laich and his delicate groin since buying Columbus. Diaz was also on the outs with us because he's not my kind of player. Pigs was willing to eat Brooks's contract and wanted to unload Visnovsky which is fine by me considering the cap savings. We give up 4th, Pokka and Dwyer to compensate for 2.6m in cap savings.

Thanks for taking Brooks off our hands Pigs!

Hmmmm, guess I'll go against everyone and say

won this trade by unloading a big contract. Of course it's only a small margin of victory. LOL

Weiss still "plays" for the Wings (when he's not hurt LOL) and as long as he's a member of the Wings he has value for SJ. The others are cheap B/O candidates. I don't think O'Reilly's ext is earthshattering so that's a plus for the Sharks too.
