Possible upsets (AND REASONS WHY) in FNHL Round 1:
- v -- WildCard 2 in the West Winnipeg could surprise the top team in the West who finished 1st in Pacific and #2 overall in FNHL. Jets have been posting strong numbers leading up to the Playoffs. But Ducks are no pushover by any stretch,
- v -- Western Wildcard #1 Edmonton has the firepower to surprise any team but it would be a big upset to knock off the #1 Central team, Colorado who seem poised to have another strong post-season run in 2023,
- v -- Not a huge upset but Pittsburgh has been trending strong over the past month and could overtake the #2 Metro seed Canes and Carolina just lost Andrei Svechnikov (knee/ACL) for the rest of the playoffs,
- v -- Another potential mild upset could be #3 seeded Central upsetting #2 Central given Dallas's strong month long push heading into the playoffs but Nashville, last year's Presidents Trophy winner in 2021/22 aren't going without a fight.
