Title: Disney & Smashville Deal
Post by: Burkes Boys on October 05, 2019, 10:48:45 PM
TO SMASHVILLE :NAS:
LW - Roope Hintz (2015: 2/49 - 58 Games)
Jesse Puljujarvi, $0.6m (2019-2021)
Round 2 - 2020
SDP Round 2 - 2020  :ANA:

TO DISNEY :ANA:
SPECIAL Round 5 - 2019 :NAS: Central Div Winner Prize
Nazem Kadri, $7.6m (2018-2022) Drafted Round 1 - 7th Overall. Only 28yo. Hitting his prime now!
C - Miro Aaltonen (SDP 2018: 2013 6/177 - 0 Games)

Preds and Ducks finally get on the same page after I sent a final counter to Anaheim and got it accepted. Kadri was the ask and we weren't giving him away for free. He's a bonafide #1 Center or #2 behind Nathan McKinnon in Colorado. He was a 7th overall pick and hitting his prime now and has a track record for delivering points. EG to confirm.

im Changing my vote after sleeping on it.

I don’t like it for Anaheim but building the way you want is what makes this league great.

:iatp: Ducks confirm this trade. We're looking to build quickly. Nazem Kadri is a great Center who plays a style of game we want more of in Anaheim. The Round 5 pick is valuable to us and I would imagine any team looking to get a special player or convert an active roster player to a prospect again. Will look to build out the rest of our roster with more moves of the next little while. Good doing business with you BurkesBoys.

I don’t see Kadri in the same light as many do, I don’t think he is a solid 3 zone guy, I feel he gets sloppy in the neutral zone too much. The Ducks have something If he can hit the 60+ point total he did in 2016-17 season and not repeat his 44 point effort from last year. As a rebuilder I always go youth and picks over production but that’s just me.  :iatp:

:iatp: I'm surprised someone wanted the Finnish version of Griffin Reinhart in Puljujarvi. Good for you Nashville. Enjoy that. Remember Griffin? Also drafted 4th overall like Jesse but back in 2012 by the NYI. Isles could've had Filip Forsberg,  Morgan Rielly, Tomas Hertl, Teuvo Teräväinen.

LOL Puljujarvi was ruined by Edmonton. He will make a safe landing elsewhere. Every team has interest in him. Good try though.

...And I would rather have Hintz at this point than Kadri in a Dynasty even if the salaries were equal. The guy had his coming out party in the playoffs last year and will be a very good player for years to come. He's playing on a line with Radulov and already has three goals this year. Kadri at 7.6m averaging 1.6 ppg...I'm not sure I follow the logic on why he's worth this package. It was difficult to find a taker for Marchand with his contract and he's twice the player Kadri is.

But like I said to each his own. I guess Anaheim is in win now mode.

:iatp::iatp: LOL Old Oilers management didn't just ruin him, they stripped his value and created yet another negative PR situation around their club. How much good will have they pissed away with all their poor decisions since the 1990's???

:iatp: I wouldn't of done this trade personally, but its not my team. This makes even less sense after letting Anderson walk for nothing.

I will say that I thought Ducks were going to be a team to watch out for when the rebuild started 3 yrs ago with gr80. He had like 10 picks in the first 2 rounds. That was looking like a proper rebuild to me.

You got to wonder how Edmonton will handle Puljujarvi. Sit on him til the trade deadline to let him stew or deal him and a decent-not-over-the-hill-veteran in a package deal that nets them a young star. Time will tell. There's no right or wrong way to build. It's equal parts dumb luck and motivation by an organization.

The new Edmonton GM doesn't like being held hostage by a young player.
It also falls on Puljujarvi that he didn't impress when he was given ice to work with. It's not like there's a lack of talented Centers in Edmonton either so you have to wonder how poor the offers are to get Puljujarvi out of Edmonton.

:iatp:  Hintz is good at 22 and going to get better. Kadri is 28 and in his prime. There seems to be good compensation going both ways.
