I would have been sad if I lost him. I could have extended him for less but got too caught up with other things... I knew they'd be people ready with a max bid.

Yeah it’s the only Rule in Backyard I hate is the max bid. Lol
Should be able to bid as high as you want or everybody gets a chance to max bid and do a lottery or some other way to award the player.
Anyways congratulations on the pick up :toast:

I'm was thinking the same thing when I looked at the rules this week. I'm going to put it up for a vote this season. Preferably no max bid, but either way $10m is too low. Players want McDavid money now.

We should look at increasing that amount though. At the time of the rule $10 was a ridiculous amount to pay a player and was to save face for GMs possibly destroying a team. Obviously can't change more though until free agency is closed.

This rule needs to be removed asap in my opinion. Is what it is now, but good chance I would bid higher given I shot myself in the foot with extensions and have over 20m to play with. More importantly the 1st come 1st serve is just not a fair route. Is what is for now.

Detroit wins with a max bid of $40m, $10m for 4 years.
Detroit will use its Atlantic Division Title Award for a 10% discount on Andersen's contract.
Frederik Andersen, $9.0m (2022-2023)
