St Louis Blues announce a trade with the Nashville Predators to add a future superstar who has already shown he's only going to get better and fast as well as a 3rd pairing winger. Thanks to the Nashville owner for working with us on this negotiation.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::iatp: Thomas is a proven commodity relative to Liljegren with a Stanley Cup ring to boot. Both players were drafted the same year and while Liljegren went 3 spots earlier, he hasn't convinced Leafs brass he deserves a fulltime spot in the NHL, at least not yet. The picks balance this deal for us. Thanks and GL King!

:iatp: Good trade for both sides but I think I like what the Blues got. Liljegren seems to be lacking the extra something to reach the NHL and might need way more seasoning in the AHL. The name Honka comes to mind when I think of Liljegren. But that's me.

Good trade indeed.

I also prefer the forward but with the cap room created I see a lot of value returning the Nashville also.
