Title: New Suns Owner
Post by: Vik on February 17, 2021, 11:23:14 PM
Never want to lose owners, but Suns have been the one remaining team I have been keeping tabs on given Bmar has not been active on here or Fantrax most of the season. He made offseason moves so wanted to give him leeway and benefit of doubt, but when Kings notified they are leaving I also noticed Suns removed himself for Fantrax so no point in waiting.

On the bright side we have a new owner immediately as I had @Dizzy also interested in joining. Let's welcome him and we are full at 20 active owners again! Suns are definitely in great shape to make a run with active ownership.

As a new owner feel free to post a free drop if you'd like to use it.

Good question, we do have the small caveat rule here at the very bottom of FA rules that technically needs to be enforced:

Bidding on Released Players

Any player who is bought out on the Transactions thread is eligible to be bid on right away by the other 19 teams.
However, a team who released a player may not bid on that player for a period of 30 days.

Good point was brought up regarding new owner, missed that this was actually added (in general rule)

Any new GM to the league will have the chance to drop 1 player from their roster for free (no buy-out penalty incurred). They will have 7 days to do so after taking over their new team.
Also - They WILL be able to bid on that player in FA right away, unlike a normal buy-out player.
This is a chance for our new GM's to drop a bad contract, or previous bad FA signing, but be able to potentially get that player back at a reduced cost if they still would want that player.

Therefore, if you still have any player you are looking to use free drop time is still allowed and then based on this can try to win him again as FA.
