Title: Monday Pickup - Aaron Hill
Post by: Colby on July 02, 2012, 05:19:48 PM
This is part of an irregular series (http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=62093.0) featuring key pickups in regular season fantasy leagues and daily fantasy leagues such as the ones found at FanSaloon (http://fansaloon.com/index.php?iframe=1&ref=profsl).

The deep leagues of ProFSL must move aside for the traditional 10-12 team basic leagues this week.  MLB's All-Star teams were just released.  Most snubs were focused on the NL Squad with everyone pointing fingers at Tony LaRussa's distaste for old NL Central rivals.  A lot of creedence goes to that theory as deserving All-Star pitchers Zach Grienke :MIL:, James McDonald :PIT:, and Johnny Cueto :CIN: were all left off the team.  This week's pickup isn't focused on NL Central pitching though.  The middle infield reserves included Washington's Ian Desmond whose stat line isn't as good as Aaron Hill.  Plus, Hill had two games in which he hit for the cycle this year.  That should count for something.  Well, I didn't keep him off the ballot in this week's Monday Pickup.

Hill has posted a .300/.360/.512 line this season.  Thanks to his cycle hitting ability, he has been the 6th best player over the past two weeks in standard roto leagues.  He has managed to slug .843 over this time which is outright ridiculous.  Forget the matchups for daily fantasy leagues such as the ones found at FanSaloon (http://fansaloon.com/index.php?iframe=1&ref=profsl), start this guy in daily leagues and pick him up in regular leagues.
