REMINDER: x1 Amnesty Buy Out Per Team (April 28 - May 11, 2013)

This is a reminder that each team can use x1 Amnesty buy out each season BUT only during a specific 2 week period following the Franchise NHL Stanley Cup Finals.

The Rule cut & paste from the "Contracts" page:
Amnesty Buy Out (denoted in Buy Out section as "ABO"): Each team can buy out one (1) player at 40.0% (x 0.40) of their contract value which MUST be spread over the remaining yrs of the contract (ie. cannot buyout in 1 year if the contract has 2+ years remaining on it; contract has 5 years remaining then the buy out is spread over the remaining 5 years). ABO's can only be posted during the two (2) week period following the conclusion of the FNHL Stanley Cup Finals (refer to FNHL Deadlines for exact dates). Other standard b/o policy above apply.

...so if there's a contract sitting on your team you want to get rid of but cannot or will not trade away, then use an ABO.

some teams have posted a post-dated ABO... we will allow - just make sure you make it clearly as post-dated.

finally, the ABO MUST be spread out over the remaining years left on the contract so in some cases you might be better off using a standard Buy Out lumped over 1 yr.

I like the ability to b/o a dud player. I also like that it's not over done since we're limited to only one of these ABO's a year.

teams that haven't used their 1 and only annual Amnesty Buy Out (40% spread over the remaining yrs left on player's contract) have another 5-days to post their ABO. Check the deadlines page.

this might be your team's chance to shed some cap to reach the lower 2013-14 $64.3m cap limit.
