Keep it simple; forget about the age stuff. I say we keep the retirement rule of giving them half of what they are worth per year, kept track in the buy out category. Sure, age plays a big role in this game. But for our purposes, it would just be easier to keep it simple and leave it off.
For that year or for the remainder of their contract?
I think it should be 50% of last year played in NHL and not for the remainder of the contract. I think most people would be happy with that.
Ya definitely nothing to do with age as we only have 4 year max contracts as well. I would say for the current year they retire not their whole contract what are peoples thoughts on that?
