Franchise NHL / FNHL 20/21 Season Update!
« on: February 25, 2021, 11:49:24 AM »
Where is Franchise NHL these days?

FNHL is working mostly off Fantrax for free agency, trades and discussions.

The 2020 offseason led FNHL to use Fantrax more. Right now, it's mid-season in 20/21 and FNHL is thriving and just as strong a fantasy hockey league as it's ever has been.

Don't forget, we're expanding to 32 FNHL teams at the end of the current season and we'll be adding :SEA-NHL: FNHL Seattle Kraken.

We love our FNHL ownership group, a dedicated and competitive executive fantasy elite. Can't wait to see how the 2nd half of the 20/21 FNHL season shapes up. :toast:

We are totally excited to announce Halo99 has purchased the :MIN-NHL: Minnesota Wild :MIN-NHL: franchise and will be coming after our $$ :money: $$

Halo's been away to deal with life for the past 12-month and felt he had unfinished business with FNHL and this dedicated-to-the-cause-fantasy-hockey-brotherhood!

Good to welcome you back! You've been missed brother!!! :toast:

Franchise NHL / RULE INTRODUCED: Cannot BO & Draft a Drafted Player
« on: January 05, 2021, 03:54:35 PM »
This new rule is to prevent circumventing the cap hit attributed to a top prospect.
In the past 2 seasons, we have seen teams dropping or Buying out a top prospect with a pricy ELC only to draft them in the Supplemental or Special Round 5 portion of the Entry Draft.

Rule Introduced January 5, 2021: Teams prohibited from Releasing or Buying out a MiLR player, player on ELC only to draft them in the Supplemental, Entry or Special Round 5 portion of the Entry Draft.

Example: Jack Hughes selected #1 overall should earn a $3.0M ELC but was bought out and drafted during the 2020 FNHL Supplemental Draft and will be signed to a league minimum of $0.7M - as of today, this practice will not be allowed as Hughes deserves his $3M ELC contract and this circumvents a sizeable cap hit the drafting team should accept.

Moving forward as of today January 5, 2021, this practice will not be allowed. :judge:

Franchise NHL / 2020-21 FNHL SEASON AROUND THE CORNER!
« on: January 04, 2021, 03:02:31 PM »
Gents, it's time to get your team(s) ready for the upcoming 12 week regular season.

The NHL and FNHL start January 13, 2021.
Rosters need to be under or equal to 30 active/reserve players
MiLR needs to be below or equal to the maximum of 30 prospects.
Salary Cap ceiling and floor will be in effect January 13th.

3 IR spots have been created for this season given COVID impacts, likely more injuries in a shortened unusual season schedule.

5 matchups per week to get us a 60 game regular season over 12 weeks.

Division re-alignment for this COVID shortened season to mirror the NHL.

PLAYOFFS Format TBC: we either leave it as is OR mirror NHL which is Division focused (top 4 teams per Division make playoffs).

  • ldsjayhawk: @jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe.  I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade.  Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for.  I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.
  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

  • Brent: I had Holliday in FGM before I stepped away.

  • Jwalkerjr88: @idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

  • Jwalkerjr88: Trading isnt easy. But neither is winning

  • Jwalkerjr88: Carolina has kyren williams right now cause i traded him for a 2nd and a 4th. Id rather have kyren today lol
    Today at 01:54:28 PM
  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

  • BayAreaBallers: on that u havat trade a bit here and there

  • BayAreaBallers: although my last draft class and fa class kinda lead me to a run so it can happen
    Today at 02:27:21 PM
  • Brent: Yeah, it does help to have a big draft class and available cap.
  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.
  • Brent: postured
  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did

  • Jwalkerjr88: Its the combination of all three that is required is what im saying
