What is going on with the schedule? Play 9 games one week then only 4 the next?

Does this mean we will now be picking opponents on a week to week basis? Or do we have a set schedule for the season that just needs to be input?

Fantrax allows a generic schedule by default. Unless your league has a custom schedule such as ours, your choices are either "All matchups within the division" or "Matchups are divided evenly, regardless of division". Ours is set to within the division since that is where the majority of our games are played.
Since we do have a custom schedule the remainder of our schedule is being manually entered (Inter-division, Interleague). That process is simple yet time consuming.
The problem is not necessarily entering the matchups but rather formulating the matrix from which the schedule is determined. It's very complicated and frankly, way the hell over my head.
I am open to any suggestions anyone would have or anyone who is proficient enough in Excel to formulate a spreadsheet, PLEASE, have at it. The guide lines for our schedule can be found here:

I believe this will require a hearty amount of time to produce a schedule to meet these demands.  Yes? Let me tinker with this after work tonight?

Is it possible to just reuse a schedule from a past year or something? Maybe by now it is too late, but for future seasons.

Because right now this is a mess. The one high scoring week I have I only get three wins to show for it while when I have a bad week I get 6 to 7 losses to show for it.

I agree it is a mess. The idea that we make it up now is a make lemons into lemonade situation. The schedule needs to be set at the beginning of the season for competetive advantage purposes. I am willing to work something of a schedule for use tonight. That way the scoring can be evenly distributed between weeks.

Then I think we should begin the process of working on a schedule system that works; in advance of next season. This definitely has been a concern of mine as well.

Ok...so I'm working on this schedule issue a little bit and it doesn't add up.

The link posted states the following...
The 162 games would be split up in the following manner:
19 games × 4 opponents in-division (76 games)
6 games x 10 interdivision games within-league (66 games)
20 inter-league games (16 vs a division from the other league (rotates annually) and 4 vs a "natural rival" (See below for a current list of natural rivals)

All makes sense to me...However 6X10=60 and not 66 so we would be 6 games short with this format.
It seems to me like interleague should be 20 games against another division and 6 against your natural rival. With the additional 4 games spread across the division if your natural rival is in the division you are playing that season.
