Franchise NHL Teams Available (for purchase)

I have also wanted a second team to help the league but don't feel like paying $20 for it. If there is a team (worst one) I am interested in improving them until we have an owner.

If the idea has as much merit as I think then the issue is with the valuation of the 2nd team. Give it a $5 discount. Anyone buying into a second franchise is already a mad fantasy hockey addict. The motivation for getting another team should be more about about helping the league than winning money. IMO

I considered a lower cost for an owner to purchase a second team. In the end it came down to 2 things:

1. keeping franchise values up instead of down.
2. any good owner can take an available team and turn them into an FNHL Stanley Cup Winner so lets not devalue franchises.

as for helping the league, there are many ways... invite savvy fantasy hky owners to this cap league, join , take on an role such as roster cop, etc.

To be honest I am not a fan of secondary ownership at all. It thins out the number of personalities I can swing trades with. So, in this context I imagine some GM's guiding select franchises for free. It would essentially be a public service that frees up the Commissioners while adding diversity and value to said franchises. They would not be devalued at all as they would remain FNHL property and continue to be available for sale.

Of course inviting skilled new GM's to the table is always good advice but I am looking beyond the current vacancy rate. If in the future we have 100% ownership we could actually lose out on great new blood as fully one third of the league could have overlapping GM's. For me that is a troubling thought. I am not writing this to be difficult or even to continue an argument but I do have a different vision. In expressing it I hope to enrich the league and to confirm that I will be an active participant.

Always good to have a discussion about league matters.
MLS started with owners owning multiple franchises. It was something the helped stablize the young league.
