Also let's try not to take our personal teams into account when voting on the poll and what is better for the league overall. I know it is hard but let's at least try.

I was thinking even if we don't do buyouts as long as we do something to help with a 8.5% drop in cap even if we roll back player salaries 8.5% although that would put a huge strain on Drew. I firmly believe something needs to be done even though we emulate the NHL I think 2 buyouts is too many. 1 would give everyone just enough to get under the cap and it would make more movement come FA

Because we are emulating the real NHL, I believe we should at least have 1 buy out this season and potentially one buy out the season after that. This will help solve the cap problem without having to do a lot of math while keeping to the NHL's rule of paying the players what they are owe.

Completely agree! If we are trying to emulate the NHL, then this is exactly how we should do it. We should follow the same restrictions as the NHL as well

  Alright, caps going down, it means we all have to make decisions w/resigns, call-ups. Thats the challenge of being a GM in this league. We already have 2 waiver free periods and an option for "claimable waivers". I'm sure most people would like to drop a contract, but I vote no, being as having a buyout is to me nothing more than the easy way out. Just my opinion.

I also wanted to remind people that the minor cap is going to drop to from 20m to 15m next year as well.

That would be something we would discuss if it gets approved. But probably just players on main roster but minor league roster would be good to so we could get players like Phaneuf, Hamhuis, Timonen, etc out of the minors.

I voted yes, as i dont think iit will take away formt he league. Ifsomeone is bought out they will be a FA and they will end up somewhere, andI think Minors shuld be included as guys in the minors will sit there and rot until the contract runs out and they should at least be on a persons team.

This is a league vote for me as I wouldn't use the buyout because I don't have any players on my team in need of one, but for the league overall I dont mind this
