It is with great pleasure we welcome Billy back to ProFSL as the new GM of the D-Backs. He understands the team is in need of a rebuild and is up to the challenge.
Welcome to FGM!

Awesome. Welcome back!

We are sorry to see Jonathan (jblum) leave FGM, but the team will be in good hands under the leadership of Jeff (davinci_ascent), a longtime fantasy player. Jeff will be the new GM of the Mariners and we are happy to have him.
Please welcome our newest member to FGM!

There has been a name transfer for 2021. The Allanta Braves, under the leadership of WestCoastExpress, will transfer personnel and become the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays personnel has been transferred to the Atlanta Braves. The Bravesare currently searching for a replacement GM.
-
Once the playoffs end, we will have a new league member. He is a longtime fantasy player and is new to the ProFSL community.
Our newest FGM compadre is Seamus (seamus.mcguinness). Seamus will technically be taking over the Cubs roster, however, Brent has requested a name transfer, so Seamus will be the new Astros GM and Brent will be the new Cubs GM.
This will leave us with one open team.
Please join me in welcoming Seamus to Franchise GM!

Thanks for the welcome. Looking forward to next season.

All of us know that ProFSL is a place where fantasy play is characterized by many twists and turns. Some of us have been around for the duration, some of us are new, and some of us have gone and returned. The :ATL: are certainly in need of some new leadership after years of sporadic care, so the :ATL: franchise has turned to a familiar face from the past in Reid B. (Orange Country) as it’s new GM. Reid is a Braves fan and has agreed to return in hopes of revitalizing the team.
Please join me in welcoming back Reid B. to FGM! This puts us back at a full 30 team league.
-
Welcome back Orange Country and now stick around, lol.

Welcome Seamus to FGM...

At the end of the 2020 season, the Astros were supposed to have a new GM in Seamus.McGuiness, but after his initial acceptance post, he has gone MIA. I have tried to contact him via email and PM over the past three weeks and he has not responded to any of my communiques, so rather than let the team be without a GM, I feel I have no choice but to replace him. He was certainly going to have a competitive team, so there is no reason to try and coax him to fulfill his duties as a GM, and with the FYPD commencing, moving past him seems like the only prudent thing to do. We want GMs who actually want to be here. So he is being replaced.
-
The Astros have found a new GM through the efforts of our own indiansnation. Brian recruited him and we thank him for helping us fill a void. Please welcome Donald M. (BigD) to FGM as the new Astros GM. He is a ProFSL veteran and hopefully, will be with us for the long haul.
Welcome aboard! :toth:

The Houston Astros traveled far and wide to find their new GM. Their recruitment efforts led them across the Atlantic to the continent of Europe and, lo and behold, they found their new leader.
Please join me and welcome Adrian (EternalNomad) as the new Astros GM. Adrian is familiar with some of our league members from other ProFSL leagues and other off-site leagues.
Welcome to FGM! :toth:

Please join me in welcoming Evan M. (evmarshall599) as the new GM of the San Diego Padres. Evan is a veteran of rotisserie leagues, but is eager to take on the challenges of competing in a head-to-head league like FGM.
For those of you why the Padres are making this change, the former GM, Dennis (dennymcc23), has been exceedingly less active during the past few seasons, and failed to respond a variety of PMs and emails regarding his continued participation.
We are fortunate to find someone eager to take over the Padres and give them the attention they needs.
Welcome to FGM! :toth:

Welcome to FGM, the best baseball league! :koolaid:

We are again at full strength, as the Padres have hired a new GM. Please welcome back Curtis (curtmenefee47) to FGM as the new GM of the Padres. Curtis was formerly the Orioles GM, but had to leave fantasy baseball for awhile because of the challenges of the pandemic. Needless to say, we are glad to have him back as a member of the ProFSL community and FGM.
Welcome back Curtis! :toth:
-
Thanks Flash! Good to be back!

We are a league based on good faith and have been committed to giving former members a second, and sometimes third or fourth chances. That said, Matt V. (DinkyCarsPlus), formerly the Vollmernator, has requested a chance to take over the Blue Jays and I believe he should be given that opportunity.
The Blue Jays have gone through three GMs in the past several months, so hopefully, Matt will provide some much needed stability.
Please join me in welcoming back Matt V. (DinkyCarsPlus).

Allowing former GMs return to FGM has been something that we have allowed as a league for quite awhile. We have several GMs in FGM who have left and returned and it has contributed to us to keep successfully plugging along.
With the recent unforeseen departure of the :HOU2: GM, a former FGM member, Kris D. (Speedster18431), has returned to ProFSL to fill the void. Kris D. will be the new :HOU2: for the 2021 season.
Please welcome back Kris D. (Speedster18431) to FGM.

After a tumultuous time with DinkyCarsPlus, the Blue Jays are pleased to have a former GM return from the COVID list.
Please welcome the return of Don M. (BigD) to the ranks of Franchise GM. Don suffered through a bout with COVID-19 and we are pleased to see him back on the road to recovery.
Welcome back BigD! :toth:

It is my pleasure to welcome Jim W. (jimw) to FGM as the new GMof the Toronto Blue Jays. Jim is a fantasy baseball veteran, but is new to our ProFSL community.

All of know that the key to a successful league is having active GMs. It promotes competitiveness and enhances our fantasy fun. As a moderator, I try to remind, encourage and support each and every GM so that we have a fully active league. Sometimes, however, I have to recruit and replace because a given GM has either abandoned his team or is so inactive that the team suffers from neglect. I don't usually offer more than a simple welcome when we have a GM change, but in this case, I believe a more in depth explanation is needed.
The team in question is the Miami Marlins. This franchise has suffered from a revolving door of GMs for a number of years and that situation has arisen again. I recruited a longtime ProFSL GM, Freddie W. (kungfuwig) to return to FGM after a four year hiatus. Ironically, Freddie was replaced some four years ago because of inactivity when he was the Braves GM. However, he seemed genuinely interested in returning to FGM and rebuilding the Marlins. Those good intentions have apparently subsided and he has not logged in to the FGM board since the middle of April. He has not responded to numerous PMs, some trade inquiries and some "are you still with us". So a change is being initiated for the good of the league.
As we all know, the pandemic, and a variety of periodic site crashes, have been challenging to us all. Such was the case with Dennis M. (dennymcc23). Originally the Padres GM for many years, Denny is now returning to FGM as the new GM of the Miami Marlins. We all know about the coaching carousel in MLB, and we have also experienced it here in FGM. There are various teams who have GMs that were formerly associated the different franchises, and through it all, we have continued to thrive as a league. Sit back and think about that for awhile...and after doing so, welcome back Dennis M. (dennymcc23) as the new GM of the Miami Marlins.

The Cincinnati Reds have ended their search for a new GM. The franchise will be led by Rusty (grizzlyadams). Rusty is a relative newcomer to dynasty baseball leagues, but he is going to spend some time researching and working to rebuild the Reds roster.
Please join me in welcoming Rusty (grizzlyadams) to FGM!

The :CIN: have recruited and signed up a new GM. Please welcome a newcomer to the ProFSL community, James M. (jmatthews) as the new GM of the :CIN:. James understands the challenges ahead and has committed himself to rebuild the :CIN: back to a competitive level

We all have responsibilities to all different facets of life and we all know that we are a part of FGM as an outlet of entertainment. But, with that, prolonged inactivity is something that cannot be a part of our league. All of us have seen GMs come and go for a variety of reasons, with some of our members returning to the helm of a different team.
Unfortunately, inactivity often means a team suffers from neglect and it makes it tough to recruit a new GM. However, there are some situations which require some creative thinking for the good of the league. The :SD: fall into this category. The current GM, Curtis (curtmenefee47) was active during free agency, but when the season began, he simply disappeared. He did not log onto our ProFSL site, nor did he make any lineup changes on Fantrax, so an opportunity arose to reinstate the former, longtime :SD:, Dennis M. (dennymcc23).
Dennis was away for awhile, and returned to FGM as the :MIA: GM. He took over the :MIA: in late June of the current season (replacing another inactive GM kungfuwig), and the team had no hope of making the playoffs. Since he was a replacement GM, with a vested interest in the :SD: and no allegiance to his current team, his old team was offered to him and he accepted.
A replacement GM will be sought for the :MIA:, and until one is found, the team shall be under league proprietorship.

Very pleased to announce that the Marlins GM vacancy has been filled. Please welcome Alex M. (ajm5551) to FGM as the newest GM in Franchise GM.
