Just to clarify my understanding...

If I bid PC + 50k on a MiLB guy, then $50k is the only thing that comes out of my budget, right?

Correct, until you promote the player to the majors.  Then the salary would bump to the league minimum of $400K

Correct.  If you call him up during the season you will be on the hook for the salary as well as the bonus.

Are we starting with a new 2015 budget?

Is there a list of eligible Free Agents? Am I overlooking it somewhere?

Or I could just look it up on Fantrax....duh

Are we starting with a new 2015 budget?

The rosters are up to date. Refer to that for your available cap space.

Make sure to search the rosters in case a player has been added to fantrax but not added to the fantrax roster.

I'm probably missing something but I'm having difficulty reconciling some of the players currently being bid on with Fantrax and the rosters spreadsheet. For example, when I look up Kurt Suzuki in Fantrax, it says he's on Oakland's team. When I search all sheets within the roster spreadsheet, he doesn't show up, which makes perfect sense if he's no longer on a team but makes me wonder how to figure out who the current free agent players are. Is there a way to do this that I'm not seeing?

Fantrax shows the actual team he plays/played for. Often they don't show that team incorrectly.  If you search on fantrax all players you will see what the players on our fantasy teams look like. Best practice is to use the fantrax available players and cross check the spreadsheet.

Maybe I'm using the wrong Fantrax? I'm working from the Fantrax that we used in 2014 and is linked at the top of the main page.

When I look for available catchers in Fantrax, Chris Stewart and a handful of other players show up as available but several others are currently being bid on (Kurt Suzuki, J.P. Arencibia, etc.) don't show up on the available players list and when searching for them by name, they don't show up unless I look them under 'all players' instead of 'available' and they show their real-life team and a Fantrax team.

Sticking with Suzuki as an example, it shows Minnesota as his real life team and Oakland as his AFB team. When I search for him in the spreadsheet, he doesn't come up.

I might be missing something obvious (wouldn't be the first time I've done that) but I'm still unclear on how to identify free agents unless they show as available in Fantrax, which doesn't always seem to be the case.

My fantrax shows Suzuki as top C available. Maybe it is an older page of fantrax and you should be on the 2015 season league page.

I don't know how to update those links. I'll change them when I figure them out

The links across the top are updated by clicking on the league link on the main menu bar across the top.  Then click modify league.  Then go all the way to the bottom and find the old link.  Then you just copy and paste the new link over the old link.

Just a guess, but are you accessing FanTrax via a saved link?  If so, you are probably looking at the 2014 league page in Fantrax.  Check the "My Leagues" button in FanTrax, it should have only the 2015 leagues in there.

It's not open to me to do that.

Maybe the co-commissioner is not able to adjust those links?  It looks like chrisetc21 is listed as the commissioner.  He is probably the one that would have to do that.

Was just looking through CI FAs and saw 1B Felix Munoz was a FA on Fantrax.  He's on Miami's roster and should be added to his/her ZZZ_minors.  Thanks.

Please remind me, if a player is signed to a minor league deal, if they are promoted to the 40 man roster, does the player's salary become the minimum?

When does the International Signing Money reset for the new year?  Thanks.

I'm assuming July 1st but I know we just altered the International rules for 2014.

New Twins owner wasn't able to win any big free agents during Free Agency, despite large cap space and active bidding.

Question: Does unspent 2015 cap space rollover into 2016? If not, when does the cap space become forfeited?

Have we changed the rule regarding modification of FA bid posts?

See Invalid Transaction here:
http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=137199.0

If we haven't changed rules, then the current bid on Pablo Fernandez is invalid and chrisetc21 is banned from bidding further on this player.

This is dumb.  What player on Earth would take 5 years $18m over 1 year $17.5m million.  We need to revisit the rule on this issue.

1 year $20m

Regarding the rule on which bid would win out (5yrs, $18m or 1yr $17.5m)...
I think the real question is which MLB team would actually offer something that?  Only a team that was intentionally structuring their cap to monopolize on such contracts.  Either way, that argument starts going down the "Who is purposely tanking" conversation which I'll gracefully decline.

The action for first offensive is a PM warning. He is still eligible to bid.

Everyone please stop with the tanking accusations and talk. Chris has a very obvious plan for his team and is very disciplined in executing it. Constant sniping is uncalled for and out of line.

I didn't get a PM warning, where is that written?  I think we're confusing the 'PM warning' you get when you are bidding on more than 6 players in FA which is written in our rules.
Precedent is pretty clear here:  http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=137199.0

My comment regarding the rule change is anything but sniping.  Changing the rule of which contract a player would take  (5yrs, $18m or 1yr $17.5m) only helps the team that has $100m in cap space, not all teams.  Good lord I have to walk on eggshells around here.

My edit was to point out how dumb the bidding had become.  I had no need to change my bid as I have enough cap room to bid $50m if I choose to do that.  My bidding in that thread is fairly consistent.

Whatever though, I won't bid any further. Curious how the Mets are so interested in a thread they have no bids on whatsoever.  It's just tit for tat for them, par for the course.  LOL at monopolizing contracts.

No argument, no interest in Pablo, no tit-for-tat, no 'par for the course', no ad hominem attacks, no sniping.  We have rules.

Similar thing happened to me on a "PC+50k" bid.  I edited the post to add a P in the post title indicating it was a pitcher.  I was unable to bid on said player because 'rules'.
