Discussion: Free Agent Prospects (Less than 40 games)

hi guys JUST A SUGGESTION....
...my suggestion is..if WE CAN make a free agency maybe just 5 or 10 days for UNDRAFTED PLAYERS that will not be picked here on our league ...and illegible players are in the last 2 or 3 yrs that has not been pick in this league and must have 0 NHL exp.
..and teams can only sign maybe just 2 players per year..a no auction signing just sign the players automatically this makes us a SCOUT lol..
...
i guess this makes our league different from the others, hehe,,

...again this is just a suggestion..

by "Undrafted" you mean player that were not drafted in this league during their draft yr but are available via free agency?

do you mean make it so those players can only be signed during a specific free agent period Sept 9-15 but after that period teams can't sign those undrafted players?

..yes,,,,my point here is just an early free agency but with limited time(maybe 3 to 5 days) and limited signing(maybe 2 signings per team) for the undrafted players or players that has zero(0) NHL experience maybe for for the last 3 yrs,,, and in a direct signing and not in auction,,
...but we can still sign  them after that period,,, we can sign players with 0 NHL game experience in free agency  right??

in Franchise NHL players that have been drafted by an NHL with 0 games experience are considered free agents.

this works because in FNHL we are only allowed to draft players during their (1) draft yr and (2) only if they are actually drafted that same yr.

i know a number of other leagues allow players from past draft yrs to be picked in a current draft yr.

if you want that, add a draft round for past yrs called "Supplemental Draft Round"

that would allow those prospects to be protected in a team's minor league system until they reach 40 games played.

it's not a bad idea. but again, let's let ppl input on this idea.

I like this idea. But no more than one supp.draft round.

i like free agency,  always one of my favorite times in a league and one thing that keeps me interested all season long.

I think it would be good to have a draft round dedicated to draftees from past years.

Make it so that only players that haven't played a game or have played less than 40 games can be drafted from any year prior to the current draft year.

You can even assign one draft pick per team per day so each team knows exactly when they should be drafting instead of waiting for the guy on the clock to pick or run the clock.

i believe DNHL uses a supplemental draft for players that qualify for MiLR (less than 40 games and or undrafted from any yr).

creating a 1 round supplemental draft would create value in those draft picks and make them another value team asset to use or trade to build a team.

i do like the 1 team per day draft process. that could be interesting.
perhaps a great way to countdown to the start of the regular season or an added activity of interest during the 1st month of the season.

Cloud, I thought about this and figure another way to address you request would be to allow teams to select 1 player from their MLR that qualifies for the MiLR 40 games or less at the NHL level to be moved into the MiLR during a 2wk period year end.

This wouldn't devalue draft picks either.
