Some locals say schools will be closed until end of May or early June. Many were closed a few days ago which took too long in Fla.

I have been out in public working, I am a distributor of Cameron’s Coffee. So I have one of the “essential” jobs, my clients count on me. So in 2 weeks I have sold $33,000 worth of coffee. The panic is crazy I need the vacation I was supposed to be on last week! And of course the absence of hockey is heart breaking. Stay safe my friends

I'm starting to see people getting a little selfish and nasty.
People need to treat this situation like a marathon not a sprint.
Acts of kindness or general kindness toward your brothers and sisters. That's all it takes.

Personally, my pet peeve during this time of urgent need for level headedness is how governments in US and Canada are taking advantage of the everyday person to unlock executive powers that will benefit corporations and hurt regular people especially those still working the frontlines to keep health, food, transportation and other essential services going.

When the Feds roll out the next phase of tax bills to pay for everyone staying home / laid off / etc, it's going to hurt regular people and line the pockets of banks and corporate America/Canada.

Anyone else feel this way? Thoughts?

I don’t watch the news, I stopped watching shortly after the 2016 election. I knew there was a fake news/propaganda aspect to some news outlets before the ‘16 election. However it’s hard to find the truth, suddenly journalism no longer includes facts. There is lots of hearsay and opinion and flat out falsehoods. I mostly research what I hear on the radio while driving from stop to stop. Some of what I think has come fro the rabbit holes my research has taken me. Some of it is well beyond comprehension. There is no doubt that corruption is present In Our government. Just look at phase 3 of the coronavirus bill in particular what Nancy Pelosi came in and stuffed into the bill in the 11th hour. All will be tied to money laundering in the near future. The Hoax President speaks of is the MSM and Democrats who are pushing the fear aspect of covid-19. Yes it’s contagious it needs us to move in order for it to move. That said what about this covid-19 have we learned? It is most dangerous to the elderly (70+) and those with compromised immune systems. Another thing there has been people get covid and get better, this doesn’t get reported. I don’t think a total shutdown is warranted but isolation is. A total shutdown will cripple this country beyond repair which is what the Democrats want. I’m sure you can tell what party I support, some may not like it. I don’t worry about that or the things I get called for it. I live in a septic field called Illinois, it’s been run into the ground by corrupt democrats for decades. As long as 6 Left leaning corporations with the same agenda as the Democrats have owning a majority of our media companies we will have a divide. God help us. God Bless the United States of America.

I'm not impressed with hospital administration that have the task of planning for such events. Supplies are short. Personnel are not well trained for these emergencies. Lots of people caught with their pants down IMO.

I worked in a hospital to pay for university ages ago and I know how some doctors, nurses, patient attendants, house keeping staff, diet offie personnel are very lax about hygiene when caring for the sick. Sorry but you don't want to end up in a hospital, you'll probably get sicker if you do. Best thing to do is stay home if humanly possible, practice universal health precautions, and practice physical distancing for the 2 mths duration when it hit your area of the world.

There's some nice signs of humanity and plenty of A-holes running around out there thinking they're above the rules set out to protect all of us.

What's troubling is the standstill the economy has been hit with. How the hell will most people recover from this type of work stoppage? Rent/mortgage, car payments, basic groceries on a weekly basis. Credit card bills, utility bills, what else?

I think this pandemic will make us all rethink how we live and spend money.

There's definitely more reporting of "neighbours" for break guidelines of self isolation and public gatherings. It's good news / bad news to see people calling each other out but in this case it's all for the greater good to reduce stress on the health system.

Only today did Canada recommend the use of masks for ppl. I thought it was a no brainer to put a personal filter on everyone. Just common sense.

Sad how slow Canada has been to learn lessons other countries learned during SARS in 2002-03.
