Ottawa management are pleased to announce they have come to an agreement with the Colorado Avalanche on a 3-player trade.

To Colorado
Colin Greening, $2.0m (2015-2016)
C - Vladislav Namestnikov (2011: 1/27 - 4 Games)

Coming to Ottawa
Carl Hagelin, $3.7m (2014-2017)

Senators agreed to this trade despite wanting to retain top prospect Namestnikov but felt it was prudent to add an established skilled Left Wing before the Play-offs.

Simple negotiations with Colorado. Thanks. SlackJack to confirm.

Los Angeles management is pleased to announce we have come to an agreement with the San Jose Sharks on a trade.

To San Jose
Jordan Eberle, $4.5m (2013-2016)
Johan Franzen, $4.0m (2010-2018)
Matt Irwin, $2.6m (2014-2017)
Round 2 - 2015

Coming to Los Angeles
Andrew Ladd, $7.0m (2011-2015)
Maxim Lapierre, $1.6m (2013-2016)
Marc Staal, $1.6m (2013-2016)

This deal was originally tabled by San Jose back in December but we felt no need at the time to act on it.

We did not want to trade Jordan Eberle given his youth and still untapped potential playing for a weak organization in Edmonton but felt it would help our franchise improve as a whole by acquiring Ladd on an expiring contract that gives us the option of resigning him or allowing him to test Free Agency this off season and using the $7.0 Million in cap space to resign our other pending Free Agents.

All other elements in this trade were based on Eberle's value to the Sharks and his reasonable salary for one more season beyond 2015.

Long-term injury reserve placement for Ryan Carter, $0.2 (2013-2015) out a least 1 Month

Buy-Out and release 3 players with all three receiving 1 year terms

Brad Hunt, $0.3m (2014-2016)
Martin Marincin, $0.5m (2014-2016)

Ottawa management has decided to Buy-Out retired goaltender Tomas Vokoun, $2.2m (2014-2017).

We complete the transaction as a 1 year Buy-Out at a cost of $2.6 Million (2014-2015) based on a 40% rate.

1) Ville Leino, $0.8m (2013-2015) gets a non-NHL buy-out at 40% since he signed with a KHL team after being released by Boston in September.

Ville Leino, $0.3 Million (2014-2015)

2) Daniel Alfredsson, $3.7m (2013-2016) receives a standard buy-out at 66.66% given his age and recent IR history.

Alfredsson, $2.4 Million (2014-2015)

These two buy-outa will save us $1.8 Million in cap in 2014-15.
