i was saying to rob yesterday , you guys should add or change up some of the rewards since it ends up being pretty much the same 3-4 teams picked for almost all the awards. 

I had suggested

The Bandit or the schister award - Pick the team that pulled of the biggest steal of the year in a trade. 
The Divey - Used the shame the team that has choosen to take the biggest dive , with the strongest roster. 
The goon - team with the most PIMs on the year. 
The Sniper - team that made the best valued Free agent pickup on the season. (not necessarily the best player but best player to dollar value)
The Predator - Goes to the team that made the best draft pick up on the season ( must be from that seasons supplemental draft) . 

That was just a few fun ones I had kicking in my head that would see different teams win some of the awards.

Was a good playoff run for you, sad to see you go. You've been here since I've been in this league and always good trade chats and general hockey talk and banter. But hey, real life is real life, this is just free fantasy. Gotta do what you've gotta do. Totally understandable. This is my escape from reality sometimes (and work).

Funny, I just said something similar to Rob as most of the awards are cut and paste jobs. My idea was to add incentive like a signing discount or something along those lines for being recognized as the best GM.

Some of these other ideas of Snug's are great too though I'd change the names....like the Goon award could be the Tiger Williams award or something along those lines. As far as the Divey goes, that's mine! No shame though as it's not only well within the rules but it adds interest at the bottom of the pack.

I love this.  We should probably start another thread to get some other name ideas going.  At least it would make the voting more fun and thoughtful. 

I had also brought up incentivizing awards in the past but got some push back with the whole "the best getting better" logic.  Should we re-open that discussion as well?
