Title: RIP Henrik Lundqvist
Post by: GypsieDeathBringer on December 02, 2020, 03:04:54 PM
No, he didn't die, but he was a part of the longest free agency negotiations this league has ever seen.  And now it is all over.

1 full month it took to get him signed and he fared much better than anyone could have guessed in getting a 5 year deal worth 5.2m annually.

What a shrewd businessman.   :toth:

Lundqvist?  I suppose people are aiming for the retirement clause to get out of that contract.

'Shocking': King Henrik to miss season with heart condition

“Heartbreaking and emotional,” Capitals owner Ted Leonsis wrote on Twitter. “I am only concerned and thinking about Henrik Lundqvist as a person and for his family’s wellbeing. We pray for his good health. We and the entire NHL family support the King.”

Well the good news for Detroit is they have enough cap space that they can buyout Lundqvist and take the whole cap hit this year.
