The Blues looked at the Red Wing trade block and worked hard to get a deal done. Cap was a huge issue for the Red Wings but we found the pieces to make it work.

Upshall is serviceable, but has some injury history. Vinny should do well Philly, but I think he is a star on the decline. I really like the return of Calvert, Zucs, and Percy; all are young and exciting players.
I think this deal benefits both squads and it was get dealing with you Ripper!

Good looking trade for both teams. Boy if Lecavalier clicks with his new teammates this will be a Win for the Blues. As it stands I'll give a slight edge to with Detroit getting good players and extra cap space while St Louis adds a good veteran but that contract of his is still a heavy load.

looks interesting. I like prefer the package Izaman3's getting. lower cost contracts. a prospect. saving cap. of course :DET-NHL: might not replace Lecavalier's point production. good gamble for both sides.
