Title: Sens and Canucks Trade
Post by: dickiedunn on May 06, 2015, 12:31:06 PM
Ottawa management announce another trade. This time with the Vancouver Canucks.

Traded to VAN :VAN:
C Derick Brassard, $5.5m (2014-2018)
age 27 (turns 28 September 2015)

Traded to OTT :OTT:
RW Marian Hossa, $5.3m (2010-2018)
age 36 (turns 37 January 2016)

Sens management feel this is a straight forward trade where we are adding a wily veteran winger in Hossa and dealing a young veteran Center in Brassard. Salaries are comparable. We believe scoring offsets the age difference.

Vancouver owner Tarheels55 to confirm.

While I like Hossa a lot,he is getting older and I needed to get a younger player to help in my small rebuilding effort.Brassard is doing very well in playoffs and hope he carries it over to next year.He can be IMO a great Center in NHL.

Works for me. Nice to see my man Tarheels pick up some more youth. The only way we get any younger is by getting kids to do the work for us!

:iatp: Teams are staying busy. Keep it up gents!
Good exchange.
Age & Wisdom/IR risk/Scoring/Wing for Youth/Health/Potential/Consistent Scoring/Center.

I think PR needs to rethink the whole 3 month break thing. LOL

:iatp: Ottawa wins if Hossa stays healthy which he has done for 2yrs and counting. Otherwise its a landslide victory for the Nucks here by getting way younger and keeping the talent level and production up.
